I am absolutely obsessed with paper, and have been since I was a kid, so stationery swaps are my favorite. I have about 50 different kinds of stationery, but it's never enough! I do actually use it though--I like to send letters to penpals and family.
FOR SWAPS--I'm not really a pet person, so I'd prefer not to get animal-related items. I also don't really like the country look, so more modern designs, patterns, and brighter/deeper colors are better. I'm also Mormon (LDS), so no coffee, tea, or items that smell like smoke please.
For crocheting swaps, I have zero preference. I'll be giving my squares to Warm-Up America, and they take every color, fiber, design, etc.
For fabric swaps, I'm wildly attracted to bright colors. My last piece was deep-colored batiks, and the one before that was bright pinks, oranges, greens, and yellows. I would really like to do a charm quilt with those scraps, and that's probably what my partners are going to end up with as well. (I'm a new quilter, so my stash is limited!) I'd prefer not to get Christmas/seasonal prints because I'm not likely to use them.
For paper swaps, again I like bright colors. I like flowers, geometric designs, stripes, butterflies, and modern-looking designs. I'm not a big fan of Kawaii, so save it for someone else.
I've been crafting since I was a kid in 4-H, so I've tried everything. My house is practically a craft store, I have so many supplies. I like to cross stitch, crochet, and scrapbook, and I'm learning how to quilt.
Warm-Up America--you make crocheted/knitted squares, and they stitch them all into blankets for the homeless
Project CURE--you sort medical supplies that they send to needy countries
AnySoldier.com--you send letters and packages to soldiers who sign up to distribute them to other members of their units who don't get a lot of mail
FreeArts--you provide amateur art therapy to children in foster homes, residential treatment, and shelters.
