About Me

As this is my busiest time of year, I'm staying light on swaps until things calm down.

I am a very strange and rather geeky person. I love laughter and conversation above all else. I would love to spend my time reading, gaming and then more reading. I tend to live in a world of fantasy that may or may not coincide with what I feel the real one is. Despite whatever problems or complications arise, I continue to love my life.

On a more practical note I am a Presbyterian minister married to an atheist and living next to a beach. We have dogs, not kids and are very happy with that fact. None of these things were what I expected, but I'm pretty happy with how it worked out.

Favorite Authors

I read enough that picking favorite books is impossible. Basically good fantasy or humor is bound to get my attention.

Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman, Terry Prachett, Anne Lammott, Anne Bishop, Emma Bull, Christopher Moore, Carl Hiaasen, Jim Butcher

Favorite Crafts

I really like trying new things (partially because I have a short attention span.

Right now my crafts of choice are:

  • Photography
  • Altered objects
  • Knitting
  • Sewing
  • Baking
  • Painting
  • Pottery
  • ATCs

Pets

Dylan

Dylan: My beloved "Dr. Seuss" dog. He's part dachshund and part fox we think.

Conall

Conall: My husband's Siberian Husky. For some reason he is developing a pink stripe on his nose for the winter.

Response: Oh good! I'm so glad you liked it =) I am also obsessed with that yarn!

You made my day :) The little bottles are perfect I've been looking for identical ones for a project as well where'd you find them??

Comment: thanks for the interesting assortment of poems and the fun presentation! I'm curious if you could tell me who is the author of ~The world is a beautiful place~?
Response: Ack! I can't believe I left his name off! It's Lawrence Ferlinghetti, probably my favorite of the 'beatnik' poets. Thanks for the rating and the heart =)

Comment: I got my box today! *is happy dancing* I thought about waiting till November 1 to open the package that said open right away..but then thought that I should follow directions. I ADORE the gloves! So warm, and in one of my favorite colors too! Perfect! Thank you, thank you!
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like the gloves. I love little rituals when I sit down to write a lot of words and I find that putting on fingerless gloves is a great one for me. While I'm not the world's greatest knitter, I love making those little gloves! I hope you enjoy the rest of your care package too!

Comment: Thanks for the necklace - love it! I wish I could make tiny neat knots at the ends like you do. I always have to use crimp beads, which I think detract a little.
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I had made two and was trying to decide between them. It was so much fun to do!

I'm so happy that you like the cauldron pincushion! (And that you're a Prydain fan, too. :D I think I'm going to have to re-read the books now, thinking about a project to make stirred up all these fond memories of them.)

Got the package for the Cup and Chaucer Oct. WTA. I like the handmade card (did you make it?) and the bookmark a lot! They're both really cool! ...and I always appreciate trying out new teas. Thank you very much!
