I am a stay at home mom to three kids and two dogs. I have been living in Walnut Creek, California for almost twenty years. I was raised in Taiwan, and immigrated to the States more than thirty years ago when I was fourteen.

I have for the past year taken up interest in swapping art through snail mail. It is a great excuse to create something. I also love the surprises of opening up mail sent by others. I enjoy seeing what others are creating.

In the beginning when I first joined swap-bot, I traded often and diligently. It was very important that I achieve heart rating with every swap I did, as a result swapping became too stressful. Now I only do private swaps. I have since regain my sense of fun with swapping.

My user name is a tribute to my two dogs; Mimi and Nini. And I used to own a PC instead of a Mac.

My dog, Nini's favorite game is fetch. That is, until he discovered an empty toilet paper tube. He was so fascinated by it that he fail to return the fetch item to me. So it occurred to me that I could make the tube into a toy. I stuffed his kibbles into the tube and laid it down on the floor for him to roll around. Now instead of gulping down all his food in 5 seconds, he "played" with his food and has a blast :)

RACKET SPORTS

I enjoy playing badminton, a game played extensively in Taiwan. Table tennis is another game I like. I also love hula hooping and jumping rope!

DAILY WALK

My favorite part of the day is when I walk my two dogs with my family. We immerse ourselves in conversations while soaking up the sun. I have developed an extensive network of trail friends who I run into daily. It makes me feel very popular.

CROCHET&KNITTING

I enjoy crochet AND knitting. As expected I own much yarn and yarn crafting supplies too. I like to crochet small things, and as I have not mastered circular knitting I usually knit flat items. I do like to crochet 3-D amigurumi, a Japanese art form!

ART

I love watercolor and painting. I really enjoy that pastelly, washed out look. Currently, I am practicing drawing faces. I especially like to draw girls, since I feel like I would like to look like that! Sometimes, I draw a face to see what a particular haircut or hairstyle might look on me, and sometimes I draw just for fun.

GARDEN

I have a 30 sq. foot garden edging a pathway. It is one of my favorite places. I am growing poppies, morning glories, beans, pansies, and many other plants. My garden surprises me every day.

RECENT OBSESSION

I recently got a bunch of vintage clip-on earrings as part of an ephemera variety pack. Suddenly, I was obsessed with them. I use them for earrings, as paper clips and for art sometimes. Would love to receive some...

TEA

I am open to trying all kinds of tea, but I prefer tea from countries other than the US. I also like non-caffeinated tea better. My favorite brand is Teekanne.

POSTAGE STAMPS

I will take all postage stamps as long as they are removed from the backing paper. I especially like foreign country stamps.

BUTTONS/PINS

I have a button/pin collection, and I take all pins, including campaign buttons.

NAIL ART

I do a lot of things with my hands, so I love to see beautiful colors and designs on my nails. I appreciate nail stickers, polish, and emery boards. My nails are very large, so I like large nail art items.

HAIR ACCESSORIES

I have very thick hair, so I would like large accessories. I don't especially like scrunchies. I love all hair accessories, though!

Aside from Taiwan, I am in love with Japan. My favorite food is sushi, especially dragon rolls with eel. I often visit the Japanese garden in my city. They have the most peaceful scenery. I have attended Bonsai society meeting in addition to succulent classes.

My favorite color is pink, which looks really nice with blue! Thus my favorite color combo is blue+pink. One of my sneakers is pink with blue laces. It's my favorite pair.

I am interested in privately swapping with people I have prior swapping experience with, and met in another swap. Some of my favorite things to receive are junk journals, flipbooks/tag flip, ATC/zine, pocket letters, tags, ephemera/embellishment and dangles/charms/tassels.
