About Me

I'm a teacher, I'm currently substituting and looking for a permanent Middle or High School English position. I'm 39 years old, single and no children. but I do have the most precious beagle...Lady Anne. I'm involved with my church and enjoy a personal relationship with God and rely on His grace and guidance in my life. My hobbies include Civil War re enacting (Confederate cavalry, I am from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia) as well as World War II re enacting. I enjoy anything from the 1940's....the clothes, the music and the everyday life. I enjoy rose and herb gardening and being outside. The beach and the mountains are my favorite places to be....I love the sand and water. I'm also a huge sports fan, I love the Philadelphia Phillies and Flyers, Virginia Tech and Navy football and NASCAR.

Favorite Music

I enjoy mostly country and classic rock music. I love to sing and perform daily concerts in the car. I've been playing the flute for almost 30 years, off and on and I play in my High School Alumni Band.

Favorite Books

I enjoy reading the classics and historical fiction. I also enjoy historical and books about other people. I'm a magazine junkie and find thumbing through catalogues relaxing. I collect different versions of the book, The Gingerbread Man.

Favorite Movies

Again, I enjoy classic movies as well as romantic movies. I also like historical movies.

Favorite Television

I don't watch much TV, but when I do I enjoy watching The Middle, Duck Dynasty and Dallas as well as reruns of MAS*H, Wings, Designing Women, Family Matters and JAG.

Favorite Crafts

I wish I had more time to be creative so I could make my own cards and scrapbook. I do enjoy making Victorian crafts and quilting. I collect seashells, well anything to do with the seashore/ nautical (ship wheels, anchors, rope/sailors knots, lighthouses) and hats from the 1940's through the 1960's. My favorite colors are shades of blues and purples mixed with seafoam greens. I also love baking, especially different kinds of cupcakes and cookies....I also collect different types of cookie cutters. My biggest craft goal is to make a brooch bouquet, so any brooches....thrift shop finds are perfect...are greatly appreciated!

Dislikes

Anything Gothic, cults. Astrology or extreme left wing. I don't like other's views pushed into me.

Comment: This is my absolute first 1 rating and I hope to never have to give one again. Jennie was my partner for this swap (which I hosted). I noticed that the swapper she was supposed to send to hadn't sent her package out either. I contacted the other swapper and asked them if they had communicated with JJennie about the lateness and their response was that they misread the swap date (March 28, when it was March 23). Shortly after, I received JJennie's response with the same "excuse" and a promise to send the package asap . Package was marked sent on 3/29, yet we're about a month after the send date and I still haven't received anything. I will change your rating if I ever receive a package and if it meets requirements.

Comment: Even though the contents of the swap met minimum swap requirements, the swap send out date was 3/25 NOT 4/2. You did make contact with me 3/26 saying you forgot the packet in your car, however, you stated later on 3/27 that you would be out of town. You marked SENT on 3/29 BUT you did not mail at post office until 4/2. I am an understanding and considerate person, but I would like to say that I believe honesty goes a long way. I would further like to note, that although this was sender's choice, it is a bad idea when someone states on their profile they have a nut allergy, to send that person a candy that is nut based. I am sorry this did not work out for both of us.
