FYI's

I'm doing a bit of an impromptu traveling the next few weeks with my daughter before I go back to work. So if you are suppose to send to me in a swap, I've already messaged you about it. If I'm suppose to send to you, I've already sent out the packages I have in my queue but let me know if you don't receive anything in 2-3 weeks and I'll get back to you when I get home!

I'll still be open for penpalling and private swaps so feel free to message me. If you are suppose to get something from me but haven't received it yet, let me know and I'll resend! Thanks!

I promise to always send out my swaps on time and to always rate when I get a package in return. I live in Japan so it might take a while for them to get to you unless it's a big package and I decide to send by EMS (fastest but a little more expensive).

I pretty much almost always PM you to let you know that I have sent out something just so you know that something is coming your way.

If there is ever a time you don't receive anything from me, PLEASE PM ME! I will resend anything that doesn't get to you the first time!

About Me

I'm a new stay-at-home mom to a almost 1-year- old baby girl. We moved to Japan 3 1/2 years ago right after we got married so my husband can work here. I just discovered "swapping" and thought I'd give it a try while I'm home with my daughter.

Before I became a stay-at-home mom, I was working at an international school doing IT work part time while trying to get an Art degree at an American University in Tokyo.

Before Tokyo, my husband and I lived in California. We met when we were attending a university there but didn't officially start dating until after we had graduated, though we were best friends for 5 years before that. We got married a year and a half after we started dating.

We decided to move halfway around the world because it was his dream to work in Tokyo. He was willing to give it up so I can pursue my dream in art. I told him that I can do art anywhere so we packed all our things and moved here!

Favorite Crafts

I love anything that's art. I was studying photography and bookmaking when I found out I was going to have a baby so both of those are on the back burner until my daughter is old enough for school.

I also do a lot of knitting, crocheting and cooking.

I also love to make all sorts of things. It just depends on my mood and what I feel like making that moment. Lately, though, I've been enjoying making toys for my daughter. She likes them since they're made just for her!

I also love good packaging designs. I collect a lot of nice boxes and gift tubes that were used to hold sweets and other small items.

I've recently discovered the joys of making ATC's and I've been loving it!

Favorite Television

I love watching Gilmore Girls, Friends, the CSI series and the Law and Order series. I also really love watching stuff from the Discovery Channel, mainly Man vs. Wild and Mythbusters.

Since moving to another country and having a baby, I haven't watched anything new so I don't know any of the new series that are out there.

Favorite Music

I love rock. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, Linkin Park, Green Day are just a few of the bands that I love to listen to.

I've also taken a liking to J-pop since that's what I hear a lot of these days.

I also like a lot of the children songs I've learned to sing to my daughter.

Favorite Movies

I love Chasing Amy, Amelie, the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice and a Japanese movie called "Ima, Ai Ni Yukimasu" aka. Be with you.

Favorite Books

My favorite book is Emma. Actually all Jane Austen books are pretty good.

Likes...

  • Dark chocolate (with nuts is even better!)
  • Cute things but no Disney and no Hello Kitty (though where I have easy access to many kawaii stuff here)
  • I absolutely adore Capybara-san (www.tryworks.jp/)
  • Art supplies
  • Crafting supplies: yarn, felt, paper, stickers
  • Interesting packages. I love good packaging designs.
  • Favorite color: blue, though I like all colors but prefer blue
  • Amigurumi or any handmade dolls (nothing creepy or has creepy eyes though)
  • Children books and toys (because I love spending time with my daughter)
  • Bags...I have such an obsession with them that my husband has banned me from buying anymore bags unless I can give him a fair trade in return

Dislikes...

  • Bugs...so images of bugs or stuff that are made to look like bugs are a big eww to me. Butterflies are ok though.
  • Scary-eyed dolls. (i.e. Blythe dolls)
  • Disney, Snoopy, Hello Kitty (because they are seriously overrated and all over the place in Tokyo)

Wants...

Honestly, I don't really have anything that I really want to receive from people. I'm seriously not that picky and I just like to get things in the mail that's not advertisement or junk mail. I think I enjoy making and sending things to people more. So I welcome pretty much anything you send me (as long as it doesn't fall into my "dislikes" category)

Hi! If you can get 5 package swaps rated by the join-by date you'd be very welcome to join my dishcloth swap. (Unfortunately I can't count email and postcard swaps). If not, there'll be more swaps later.

CarbonxKiwi on Aug 1, 2009:

Oh, laughter, we meet again! I hope you have a lovely time in this swap as well. :) I opened up your profile and went, "Oh! I recognise her!"

Keep well!
