I am a Texan firmly transplanted in Chicago around 15 years ago. I am mom to Morgan, a beautiful, brilliant, talented 13 year old girl, wife to Jeff, a super sweet engineer from Ohio and doggy mama to Dixie Belle, an eight year old black Schnoodle.

I am a social worker and do most of my work with police departments. I used to travel all over Illinois and beyond for my job, but have really tried to limit business travel in the last couple of years in order to be home with my family more.

I love anything crafty, and have loved doing crafts my whole life. I started doing crafts with my daughter as soon as she was old enough to hold a crayon, and we now enjoy scrapbooking together, among other things.

I was raised by my English teacher mother, and books have always been a huge part of my life. For mindless enjoyment, I like to read books by Patricia Cornwell, Jonathon Kellerman and James Patterson. Some of my all time favorites are To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, The Witching Hour by Ann Rice and all of the Harry Potter books.

I have enjoyed a number of different crafts over the years. I started cross-stitching at a young age, and still do it from time to time. Currently, I spend most of my spare time on scrapbooking and other paper crafts.

We don't watch that much TV, but some of the shows we like are The Closer, 24, Medium, Survivor, Top Chef, and Amazing Race.

Hi, my name is Morgan. I'm thirteen and in eighth grade, and I live in Chicago with my mom and my stepdad. I've got a Schnoodle named Dixie, an iguana named Iggy, and a six week old kitten named Cleo. I have a deep passion for [performing and viewing] the theatre arts, scrapbooking, and [shocker!] hanging out with my friends after school, cooking, traveling and watching football with my family. I guess you could say I'm somewhat of a math nerd... I take honors Algebra at a high school down the street from my school with six other students. Some of my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, the Twilight series, the May Bird trilogy [JodiLynn Anderson], and the Pretty Little Liars series [Sara Shepard].
