Oct 2020 - I'm returning from a hiatus from swap-bot. If there's anything regarding ratings for old swaps, unreceived swaps, or anything else, please get in touch with me! To my knowledge I've contacted and tied up any and all loose ends but if I'm mistaken, please let me know so I can remedy that!

Hi, I'm Rebecca,
I'm 30, an artist, and have had lots of different jobs... I love doing jobs that I find interesting and spending time creating things. Since the pandemic hit I haven't been able to work outside of the home and have been solely doing freelance art and design work now - it's not how I had planned to achieve this dream, but its happening! I took some time off from this site to figure out my new work-life balance but I'm back now, albeit taking things a little slowly.
I've been exchanging letters with pen-pals since I was a kid, and recently started doing mail swaps. Something handwritten or handmade is wonderful, but if you struggle with that, typed is lovely as well. I love to hand-make things and use recycled, found and natural items, and strive to make each piece of mail unique.
Oregon is my home, along with my husband and a bunch of pets - two cats, one dog, several rabbits and chickens, and never enough plants. We also foster animals from time to time. A couple of years ago, we moved to an old farmhouse and started fixing it up. Since moving here I've been able to plant a garden, start growing herbs, flowers and food, and saving seeds. I've been learning how to use restorative practices & permaculture techniques on our land and have set aside several wild spaces. Next is a food forest!
I love that I live somewhere I can enjoy these things and also close enough to cities that we can visit often. I especially love going to concerts, watching our local theater groups, and checking out cool book stores, pagan & thrift shops.
Gardening, art, and spending time in nature are some of my favorite ways to spend time. My spirituality centers around nature, folk and pagan concepts... If you want an easy label you can call me an eclectic green witch. I use a A6 5"x7" six ring notebook, and another 3 ring with 8.5" x 11", that I use as a collected book of shadows. If you'd send me recipes, decorated pages, blessings, incantations, knowledge, or anything else to include, that would be wonderful. I can share pages as well and send some of mine - I really enjoy making and sharing handmade pages! I have also been delving more into dream work and lucid dreams, as well as kitchen witchery in particular of late so anything related to those subjects would be very appreciated.
D&D and other tabletop RPGs are another hobby of mine. I've been playing in and running games for over a decade now, but since the lockdown, it has become an even more important creative outlet and a way to keep bonds and friendships strong across time and distance. So yeah, long story short, I really enjoy D&D and TTRPGs and would love to see or read about things from your games!
This is just a list of some things and themes that are near and dear to my heart. I find these really help me when I'm doing profile-based swaps for others. It's definitely not complete - I'll continue adding to it as things occur to me - but for now....

I enjoy seeing the style and personality of the sender, so feel free to include anything not listed that you think is cool, too. And of course, sending just what the swap specifies is always just fine! That said, If you're the kind of person who likes to add a little extra or you're looking for ideas for a profile-based swap, here are just a few things that I am happy to receive:
A thoughtful letter, short or long
Art or a doodle by you or that you enjoy
Artist Trading Cards (I'm always happy to trade!)
A bag of your favorite tea, cocoa or coffee mix
A favorite, family, or magical recipe of yours
Happy mail
Washi tape samples
Die cuts
A doodle or some art made by you
Interesting paper clips
I love things made with brown craft paper
Incense (I send them wrapped in something like wax paper so that the oil doesn't stain the mail)
Stickers (please no kids stickers or brand advertising)
Your favorite mailing stamps
Moon and/or starry things
Pagan/witch/green witch related things
Halloween/Samhain stuff in autumn, Yule stuff in December, Birthday things in late March/early April, anything for the current season or upcoming sabbat
Anything nature, cat, botanical, floral, space, art deco, art nouveau or Victorian gothic themed
Really, anything unique to you and/or where you live!
π -----
The following are the things I collect and love to receive (these things might be mentioned elsewhere but these are the ones I tend to hold on to the most):
Black cats - I've been lucky to share my life with two black cats, both came to me on their own and one has passed on. Seeing them depicted always brings me joy
Tarot cards - decks, individual cards or illustrations
Goddess imagery, especially with nature, fox, rabbit/hare, or moon themes
Things found from nature - pressed flowers or leaves, feathers, etc.
Small stones, crystals & fossils, especially ones found by you
Seeds - herbs, flowers, vegetables, trees, anything!
Vintage botanical illustrations and ephemera
Pretty envelopes and letters, the longer the better
Postcards with a message on them
Handwritten poetry, verse, and stories - either by you or write down your favorite
Art Journal or Grimoire pages
D&D related stuff
The Fairy folk - I enjoy the more fantastical, dark, and mythological depictions of fairy folk and creatures, but don't care so much for the more cute/modern ones. If you look up the art of Brian Froud you'll get an idea of the kinds I really enjoy seeing
Cryptids... I just think they're neat. My favorites are the chupacabra, mothman, and the very underappreciated squonk.
Art by you or others - I love seeing what others create, even if it's just a doodle! Don't sell yourself short!
No unsolicited mail, please! If we have communicated and you'd like to send me something, please send me a message first. If you'd like to surprise me just reach out and ask if a random surprise sometime would be welcome and let me know who you are! I welcome most things and will happily reciprocate but total mystery mail makes me nervous.
I'm allergic to mangoes & cashews
Please don't send cosmetics, lotions, soaps, etc. as I can't use most of them. Salt blends are fine though!
Please don't send advertisements, political, mlm, lifestyle, or religious items (pagan, witchcraft or nature related is welcome though!)
I prefer not to receive Americana or generally patriotism-themed items. (I wouldn't mind receiving something like a themed postcard from Denmark for Danish independence day, a flag stamp, or a picture of a historic cathedral, for example, but I do not welcome usa, patriotic or 'faith and family' items, as well as propaganda items from any country, religion or group unless I've expressly stated that I want them.)
No depictions of violence, guns, blood, or gory things please. (If we're swapping something like horror movie suggestions, you can ignore this, but if its not relevant to the swap then please, no thanks!)
I prefer just about any scent/flavor over pumpkin spice. I also don't care for vanilla as a scent, but the flavor is lovely!
I don't really use planner items and would prefer not to receive them.
I'm not a big Disney, Sanrio or SanX person, but I'm sure someone else here would love whatever it is, so please hold on and send it to them and not me :)
I don't really enjoy mermaids, cutesy unicorns and fairies, tiger/leopard print, or makeup/shoes/glam-queen as a theme.
Minions (those yellow pill-shaped guys with goggles) seriously weird me out.
I believe in making sure swaps I host are vetted and that I can angel if needed. If you need an angel (after leaving a rating), or have any other questions or concerns about a swap I'm hosting, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
I use tape, a paintbrush and water, or adhesive to seal envelopes and stamps, so you don't need to worry about me licking your mail :p
I love to make and receive art and hand-made items. On the rare event that I send something made by someone else, it will always be like new, and I will always indicate who it was made by. If you send on something I made, I would appreciate the same courtesy. I'm usually proud of what I send, as are most artists and craftspeople I know, so I consider it important to give credit where credit is due!
I only mark things as sent once I have actually dropped them off at the post office, though mail is sometimes postmarked at a later date.
I always do my best to send things off in a timely manner. I will contact you if I can't! If something doesn't arrive, or I missed something that was supposed to be included in the swap, please let me know - preferably before you rate - and I'll correct that right away! If you can't send on time, please reach out to me. I'm not super strict about postmarked dates (sometimes things I send aren't postmarked until they reach a central sorting facility a few days later) but if a swap must be sent out late, I appreciate a heads up.
If something arrives to you postage due, please refuse it so it comes back to me or at least let me know so I can compensate you! I weigh all outgoing mail myself, so if something has the wrong postage I want to know what went wrong.
I believe its important to rate accurately and in a timely fashion. I'll rate things the day I receive them unless something crazy comes up, or I need a little extra time. I rate based on the swap criteria, swap-bot rules, and communication - extras are something to send if YOU want to, never obligatory, and won't affect how I rate your swap. If I haven't rated something and it should have reasonably arrived by now, please reach out!
