UPDATE (2/23/13) I was diagnosed with Late Stage Lyme Disease in June of 2010 and it has been the battle of my life since then. I am slowly recovering but it has very difficult and I struggle every single day. I will continue to fight as hard as I can for my health and I am always looking for things to brighten my days and lift my spirits. I believe that attitude is so important and 90% of the battle against any disease.
I was a full-time jewelry designer (for $$$) (but I've not been able to work for some time) and a part-time papercraft artist (for fun). I am finally well enough that I am able to work very part time and I've been working as a paralegal for an attorney I used to work for years ago. I live in Pennsylvania with my wonderful husband and the coolest dog on Earth. Both my husband and my dog were rescues. :-)
After reading other's profiles, I've decided I need to add some more info on what I like. Here goes...
My son just finished his term with the Army (10th Mountain Division) and recently returned from Afghanistan. Anything Army related is great. He joined the National Guard as soon as he got home from the Army, which makes me very proud. He will be starting college soon.
I collect anything with the Eiffel Tower on it.
I also collect old keys and old spoons. I love finding them at flea markets.
Spoons have a very special meaning to me because of "The Spoon Theory", which you can google and read if you are interested. If you know anyone with a chronic illness, it will interest you and it is worth reading and sharing with them.
My home is an 1880 Historic home in a beautiful little town in Pennsylvania. We renovated the house and I've never been happier living anywhere than this. The house is decorated in mix of modern/contemporary and antiques. Sounds strange but it works. The colors in the house are mostly based around gray. The living room has green mixed in and the bathroom is an awesome shade of turquoise- almost Tiffany Blue with gray accents.
I collect Milk Glass and I'm always looking for interesting pieces. They are usually very inexpensive at garage sales and flea markets and I love finding new pieces to treasure.
My husband is a european trained cIockmaker and I collect clocks or anything to do with clocks or time.
I love anything to do with relaxation- bath stuff, teas, candles, essential oils, etc.
I love notebooks, notecards, birthday cards, stationary, etc. Any kind of paper or fun office supplies.
I love color but turquoise is my favorite color lately.
I love papercraft/scrapbooking supplies and embellishements. Rubberstamps, quality stickers, prima style flowers, ribbons and ribbon scraps, buttons, brads, stick on pearls, etc....
I love tarot cards, spell books and anything to do with witches or mystical arts.
Halloween and Christmas are my favorite holidays. I love handmade Christmas ornaments or even ideas for making them.
Unfortunately, with my illness, I can not have sugar but a small chocolate item would be appreciated as it could be my "one bite" I allow myself once in a while. Those round Lindt truffles are my favorite. Once in a while I buy myself a little 3 pack of them and have one a month or so.
One of my favorite things is collecting and organizing embellishment items for my papercrafts. (ribbon/fibers, beads, buttons, flowers, etc)
I wear mostly silver-toned or sterling silver jewelry. I am a big fan of costume jewelry... esp. anything vintage or handcrafted. My ears are pierced and I love earrings, especially with matching necklaces.
I'm interested in anything healthy, natural and organic. I try my best to eat healthy because of my illness. Ideas for super nutritious foods and recipes would be a great help to me. Any ideas or suggestions for healthy living, yoga exercises or anything like that would be appreciated.
I'm pretty easy to please. I like a lot of things and I can't even think of anything that I would put on a "do not send" list... except maybe extremely religious things but even then I keep an open mind and appreciate all things that are gifts.
I love music and have been collecting mp3 for many, many years. You'll find everything from Frank Sinatra and Etta James to Eminem and Aerosmith to the latest Top hits in my collection. I love just about anything, especially jazz/blues.
I design costume jewelry as my business but I also dabble in some beading for fun. My real passion is papercrafting. Mostly cards but occasionally I do some framable art. I hope to complete a scrapbook someday too.
I get a lot of pleasure from collecting and organizing my extensive collection of rubberstamps, art supplies and embellishments.
I'm not much of a TV watcher in general but I must admit that I do put the soaps on during the day while I'm working (all the CBS soaps). I also admit that I am shamelessly addicted to the Real Housewives series on Bravo.
The one show I never miss is Sons of Anarchy. I am a huge fan of that show.
Not much time in my life for reading these days but I LOVE books. I love the feel of them, I love collecting them, I love to just be around them. I love cookbooks and collect them.
I've read almost all of the Left Behind series and loved them even though I don't consider myself religious. I'm in the middle of reading the Sookie Stackhouse books from the show True Blood.
I'm weird in the movie department- I like strange and fun movies, especially musicals. Among my faves: The Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, Pulp Fiction, Moulin Rouge, Mama Mia, Grease, Fight Club, A Christmas Story, Rocky Horror Picture Show and almost anything with Adam Sandler or John Travolta.
The one movie that I have watched many times because I can't flip past it when I'm channel surfing is Big Daddy with Adam Sandler. I don't know why but I can't turn it off... it must be Scuba Steve! LOL And Joe Dirt... can't channel surf past that one either!
