Hello!

My name is Leigh and I live in the mountains of Utah and absolutely love it here! I enjoy spending time outdoors exploring the different trails in the mountains. I’m not much of a winter sports person- I went skiing once and almost took out a ski lift so I don’t participate in those. I love hiking though and try to go on a hike at least once a week!

Literature is one of my favorite things on the planet. I know that I’m getting depressed when I don’t read, and I read so much that I’m a pretty fast reader now.

My favorite book of all time is Pride and Prejudice. I love Jane Austen, and also love classic literature in general. I also enjoy the novels of Charlotte Brontë, Louisa May Alcott, Mark Twain, L.M. Montgomery, and many others from the Victorian era.

I also love Harry Potter and other fantasy novels. I am a proud Gryffindor and I can talk about HP for hours on end. I’m still up in the air about Fantastic Beasts, the American Wizarding World’s history is inaccurate compared to actual American history, and I feel like Ilvermorny has some continuity errors. I was sorted into the Horned Serpent Ilvermorny house though.

I am a sucker for time travel stories and historical fiction, and I do enjoy chick-lit as my dirty little secret. Right now I am also slightly obsessed with the Outlander series again. I really enjoy these books and have for many years, and the show isn't bad either if I say so myself! I’ve also recently finished “Anne With an E” on Netflix and I thought it was an interesting take on a classic story. I don’t think it’s the best adaptation I’ve seen but it has been enjoyable watching it.

I love to scrapbook! It helps me to relax and keep all of my memories together in one place. I'm not the best at it but I love it! My husband bought me a Cricut last Christmas and I have been excited to incorporate it into my scrapbooking.

I am also a fan of mail art and using washi tape. I'm working on building my washi tape collection right now and I have more basic colors and patterns which are easier to find in my area.

I love to sing and play the piano, and explore new sheet music. I find music to be very relaxing and playing my piano helps me to de-stress.

I love Disney movies and have seen just about every one ever made. Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle and Eeyore are my favorite Disney characters. I loved the new live action Beauty and the Beast, and I hope that the upcoming live action movies are equally good.

I think postcards are a fun way to see the world that I might not otherwise be able to see. I really enjoy scenery and art postcards, and don’t mind touristy ones. Touristy cards are most of what I have as they are more available where I live but I try to get non-touristy cards for the people who enjoy those.

I used to have a collection of foreign paper money and coins but it was stolen by a former roommate. I’m really sad that it’s gone and I would love if you could send me some currency from your country if that’s possible. I’m definitely willing to swap for currency if anyone is interested!

I collect tea cups and saucers, and love to try different teas from around the world! I prefer herbal or fruit flavored teas (because of dietary restrictions) and I am always looking to try new flavors!

I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I respect other people’s beliefs and opinions, and think that diversity is what makes this world so beautiful. I am open to items from your religious tradition or belief system, and will always be respectful of what you send me. I do love to learn about other belief systems than my own, and while I do feel passionately about my faith, I do not believe in pushing my beliefs or opinions on anyone. I will ALWAYS respect your beliefs and opinions and ask the same respect about mine.

When it comes to holidays I try within my home to celebrate as many as I can with gusto. Tell me about your holiday traditions, what you celebrate and how, because I try to celebrate one new holiday each year that might be unfamiliar to me. I love learning about the reasons that the holiday is celebrated and feel free to share what you personally celebrate with me!

For Christmas I appreciate both secular and religious items. I love to decorate and always appreciate ornaments for my tree. I love exchanging Christmas cards and try to have both secular and religious ones to accommodate people’s various wishes.

I am always interested in participating in a food swap! I love to try different foods from around the world and am happy to do a private swap for food/snack items.

Some things that I have tried in the past that I love and cannot get where I live are: Flakies (Canada), Hagleslag (The Netherlands) If you have access to these items and would like to trade I will love you forever! I’m also open to trying pretty much anything food-wise and if there are any American foods you’d like to swap for please let me know!

I am married to the love of my life and would feel bad if he was left out of the excitement of swapping. Some swaps I may request to have the items sent to/for him instead of me. His name is James and here are some of his likes:
