Hi! I’m 33 years old & mom to two girls. I teach high school English, which I think in many ways influences my personality - I suppose I could describe myself as a grounded extrovert.
I love to read, write, craft, travel, & enjoy the outdoors. I live in a college town nestled in the mountains, so life always seems to have something to offer.
I’m addicted to disc-bound planners. If this doesn’t seem like a craft to you, then you must not have fallen into the washi rabbit-hole.
I’m starting to experiment with clay pottery. I love paper crafting. I dabble in jewelry/beadwork.
Aesthetically, I love botanicals and florals. I prefer matte finishes on stickers/embellishments, but also love playing & experimenting with new styles. When it comes to kawaii, my style skews towards amigurumi / Studio Ghibli characters.
This is almost impossible to complete, because I am constantly reading — sometimes with my daughters, sometimes related to work, and then of course for pleasure. My daughter’s name is inspired by TKAM, Herman Hesse is worth a repeat-read, and I think everyone should open their hearts to more poetry.
I am about to start ‘The Book of Longings’ by Sue Monk Kidd.
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington The Scarlet Pimpernel
My friends used to joke that I was ‘well read, but not well seen’, but the recent pandemic & Netflix have sorted that out for me.
Debra Messing is my spirit animal.
I’ll admit it, I sometimes watch terrible reality TV. I equate it to a beach read - sometimes you just need some mindless distraction to rewind with a good cup of tea.
I’ve never turned down a historical drama, and I love the engagement of a good crime series. I've watched all of NCIS, and have a huge crush on Mark Harmon, despite his age. But let’s be honest with ourselves: the greatest TV show of all time is House. Long live Hugh Laurie!
I am as obsessed with Orange is the New Black as everyone else. I wish I was an Alex, but I admit I’m probably more of a Piper.

I was scheduled to visit Greece this summer, so hopefully I’ll have another chance in the next few years.
I live in the mountains, but I love succulents and cacti. Maybe it's the emergence of this aesthetic on the scene in the past few years, but I actually have fond memories of sitting on my grandmother's front porch in the mountains of West Virginia as a child, being fascinated my her prickly cactus. She was a gardener - a large vegetable garden that provided food for the table, the most gorgeous flowers including a magnificent rhododendron bush - but something about the cactus amid all of the other greenery just seemed...intriguing.
