Hello from Wisconsin! We are known for beer & brats, cheese in every variety, the Green Bay Packers, the WI Badgers, country music festivals, WI Dells, farming, and Friday night fish fries. I live in a small town near the state line between WI and IL. I retired from teaching in 2014, after 33 years dedicated to students with special needs. In late summer of 2014, we got the devastating news that my DH of 28 yrs had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I lost him on Easter Sunday. To cope with the grief and loneliness, I renewed my love for crafting and it has been good therapy for me. I have a grown daughter, Heather, age 30, with no grands in sight.

Hobbies..I am becoming more and more interested in fountain pens and ink. I would love to have a pen pal where we wrote exclusively with fountain pens. Having little ink swaps would be great fun. If there is another pen/ink person out there that this would appeal to, send me a message…you might be a newbie just starting out in the hobby or well immersed .Besides ink/pens, I like about anything related to paper crafts, learning new crafting techniques and genres,making gelli prints, painting with watercolors, rubber stamping, (I collect wood base stamps), making wax seals, beading, sewing on paper, taking pictures, journaling, I flower gardening (favorite garden flower is a geranium), thrifting, reading,(mystery/suspense) I’m currently reading my way through Patricia Cornwell- the Kay Scarpetta series. I love listening to music(country)…George Jones is still my favorite. TV & movies- I watch fictional or true crime mysteries, documentaries, PBS, some reality shows, film noir, and specific time period pieces. My favorite animated/comedy show is Bobs’ Burgers (Teddy cracks me up!) I enjoy listening to audio books & podcasts, and spending time with my pets...4 cats and 1 dog. (I lost my beagle, Sadie, September 8, 2022 and am heartbroken. She was so much company, I’m grateful for the 15 yrs I had with her) I love social media, esp. Themes I like: Maggie Holmes, anything related to nature, botanicals, flowers/floral designs, bird art, all shades of pink, combining paper and fabric, hearts, dogs-esp. Beagles, Russian Blue cats, ( and all breeds of cats), animal lover in general, postage stamps, mail art, collage, reading/books/print, vintage inspired, lace trim, French Postal-script/icons, mason jars, butterflies, birds, (esp. hummingbirds, cardinals,and goldfinches) Tim Holtz style, baking/recipes, mixed media.

Things I'd Like to Receive: Items with a kitty, bird, butterfly or floral graphics, used postage stamps, old playing cards and postcards, paper die cuts, snippets of fabric, lace, embroidery, ribbon, or textiles such as tulle, jewelry findings, samples of stationery, vintage inspired images, memorabilia, tickets, Dutch themed graphics, tiny buttons, napkins for decoupage, charms, old book pages, ephemera for junk journals, hand made envies.
