MAY YOU HAVE THE DAY YOU DESERVE
We all are villain in someone else's story
Always give 100%, unless you're donating blood
My name is Amy Elizabeth, and I live on the east coast (Maine!) of the U.S. I was born and raised here; I live in a small town with less than 6,000 people! I have BAs in Psychology and Criminology; professionally, I am a crime analyst. I don't exactly dance to the beat of my own drum, but there is that pesky drumline following me around :) I am quirky and accepting of such. I am clumsy and not so accepting of such. I am compassionate, friendly, driven, motivated, organized, perhaps a bit selectively obsessive-compulsive, always shy, sometimes self-conscious, vibrant, creative, affable, a perfectionist, optimistic, probably annoyingly enthusiastic, and slightly neurotic regarding to-do lists.
Hobbies: I am an avid snail mailer and pen pal extraordinaire, a bibliophile, musician, crafter, collector, a novice blogger, and a runner.
I am officially signed up for my first full marathon on 1st October 2023!! I am working on a journal packed with anything related to running, fitness, motivation, goals, etc.
MY GROUPS
CURRENT COLLECTION / PROJECT
When two of my cats and my rabbit passed in a matter of months, I found solace in photographs of pets belonging to my penpals and fellow swappers. I began a photo album, which I would love to fill. If you're looking to send extras or to send a RAK, please consider sending an addition to my album! I'm also willing to private swap. :)
My fur baby, Radin. Check him out at 1:49 in Here, Right Now
Again, I am working on a journal packed with anything related to running, fitness, motivation, goals, etc.

On Swapping
In my family, ideas pertaining to giving have been handed down from one woman to another. My Gma instilled in my Mum, and she in me, that giving, truly giving, should hurt a little bit. It's easy to send away or give the things that we do not like or do not want. It may be as small as using my last piece of favorite stationery to write you a letter or as big as sending you something I'd really love to keep for my own collection, but I hold the aforementioned giving rule near and dear, and therefore, my swaps always hurt me a little bit. Why do I share this with you? Because you deserve to know that when I send my outgoing mail, I have invested my time, my energy, and myself into it.
I am a voracious reader! I wish I had more time to devote to my extensive reading list/book collection, but I have many hobbies demanding my time and attention. I do make time daily for reading; I have a book, in progress, in just about every room of my house!
Stardust by Neil Gaiman is my favorite book, followed closely by A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness; I read the former once yearly. One of my favorite authors, also a Mainer, is Stephen King. I collect King books in languages other than English
Other favorite authors: Neil Gaiman, Lars Kepler, Josh Malerman, Jennifer McMahon, Jay Kristoff, Joe Hill, and John Saul. I love the horror genre, true crime, and the classics! I'll give any book and any genre a try, tbh.
I have been dedicating more of my time and efforts to my NetGalley and Goodreads accounts: updating my progress, rating books, and writing reviews.
Currently reading:
-Gothic
-The Beast You Are
-The Nightmare Man
Currently tackling the Goodreads list of 2023's most anticipated horror
Currently really digging my vinyl and cassettes! I can read notes, and I play the flute. I'm teaching myself the guitar and the ukulele! I listen to music (almost literally) ALL of the time. I have a varied taste, but I respect all genres even if I don't tend to listen to them often. A couple of my favorites are Eric Clapton and Joshua Radin (who I've had the pleasure of meeting twice)! I have Radin lyrics in one of my tattoos :)
I am a crafter by hobby, and I so enjoy creating! I'm elated at the prospect that my creativity may bring joy and happiness to others. My favorite crafts are those I create with duct tape, perler beads, embroidery floss, loom bands, paper, and fabric. I also enjoy latch hook, origami, and quilting. I have recently started to learn how to knit and crochet, and ATCs are new to my repertoire as well.
I am particularly proud of my perler portraits (see below) (:

If you do not receive a swap from me, please message me before rating me poorly. Also, human error does happen despite precautions. I ALWAYS have my swap mailings weighed at the post office before I mail them out. If there is ever an issue, please do let me know, but be kind and suggest a resolution. Swap-bot can be a very fun experience but only if everyone is treated kindly and with respect.
I mark 'sent' after I've compiled a swap and it's ready to go out on/during my next PO run. I go to the post office DAILY, with the exception of Saturdays and Sundays.
I always, always, ALWAYS rate. I log in to swap-bot and rate as I open my mail; this is a daily practice. If you're waiting on a rating from me, it's because I have not yet received your swap.
Items I always love to receive (in good condition, of course). This is by NO MEANS a demands list or a list that implies that I would not like items that are not featured/listed here. I just know how useful it is for me to read what my partners love the most, especially when it comes to de-stashing type swaps!

I'm fair when it comes to dishing out ratings, and this applies to poor ratings too! You need not fear that I will rate you poorly just because life happened and a swap was late or lost during its voyage AS LONG AS YOU CONTACT ME before the send by deadline. If you've ignored my attempts to contact you, and you have not been online for 1-2+ weeks since the swap deadline, then I am going to rate as is appropriate - at that point, it's on you because I've done my part.
