I am a language teacher, married with two adult stepsons. We live near a large city but originally I am from a small village near the Baltic Sea. I like languages, listening to audio books, I enjoy learning about people and what they like (or don't like). I also love foxes, things that have to do with the sea / ocean / beaches, the like. When I don't work I enjoy cooking, jigsaw puzzles and corresponding with my pen pals. Sending and receiving postcards is also high on my favorites list! We have three cats but I do get along with dogs, too.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s so much of my favorite music is "that old". I have always preferred rock / pop music, mixed in some punk and alternative. Back in the days I went to my share of live concerts, now I sometimes find myself watching videos of live shows on YouTube.
As soon as I had learned to read I LOVED books. Many of my childhood books I read more than once. Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King, Ann Granger, Lee Child, Karen Slaughter - I very much like crime or mystery books, at times I will also pick a non-fiction book, my interests range from psychology, history and sociology to biographies and - of course - languages. Because I find myself busy with all sorts of things I prefer to listen to audio books rather than trying to make time to read them.
A long time ago I used to work in a movie theater. At that time I watched a lot of the movies we were showing. Since I started working in other fields I have not watched a lot of the new movies, I would however like funny, science fiction or some romantic movies. My favorite actor is Bruce Willis.
One of my interests is politics. I don't think it is on my top ten list of things to talk about but I do follow the main events in my country and other parts of the world. If we like it or not, what happens in politics will affect all of us in one way or another. I try to learn something new whenever I can - it can be about a place, a person, an event, a new (or old) product, science, history, everyday things or unusual ones. There is so much to learn that I never want to quit... maybe being a teacher makes me this way? Although I am not into crafts I do admire people who are artists of any kind. It amazes me how people can create new things out of different materials or using different tools (thinking about music or language arts). I try to be creative in when it comes to teaching but can't imagine decorating postcards and the like the way others can and do!
