I live with my husband of 53 years in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina. We have three sons and one granddaughter. After nearly forty years of teaching children and adults with disabilities, I have traded in my teacher shoes for working part time as a tutor My beautiful (at least I think so) granddaughter Vera is a junior in high school now, and has become a devoted crafter like her grandmother. Other than reading and crafts, I love to travel. I am a committed Christian and find Bible study, meditation and prayer helpful in making peace within myself.

My favorite music is a little of almost everything. I don't like violent themes or abusive language, though. Andrea Bocelli, Celtic Thunder, and Pentatonix are current favorites.

I love to read and am not too picky about what I read. I like historical romance, mysteries, spy stories, Robert Ludlum, John Grisham, Maeve Binchy, Michael Crichton, James Patterson, and George R.R. Martin (I have read all five volumes of A Game of Thrones!). I definitely am not in a rut!

Card-making, ATCs, matchboxes, papercrafts, and crocheting.

I love all colors, especially pastels. I suppose my favorite--if I had to choose just one--is soft, buttery yellow. My favorite Christmas colors are red, green, and gold.

I will try not to join any swaps that might result in my being send a food item. I am diabetic (Type II) and was recently treated for congestive heart failure. I must limit carbohydrates, sodium, fat, cholesterol, and caffeine, so trying to find a food item to send would be a minefield!
