I enjoy getting to share the tiny bits of your lives and art and thoughts- what a nice way to connect with people! I enjoy writing letters, journaling, and just playing with paints, colored pencils, and other supplies. If it's warm out where I live, I love to be outside but winters get long and getting creative is a way to reflect and enjoy even dark winter nights. I spend a lot of time in the woods or near the river by my house.

I find life to be quirky and as Mark Twain has been credited with saying, "it doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes." I think it's easy to miss the quiet current of joy, humor, and just good stuff that flows between and around us- the world is so loud.

I'm in my 60's with three grown children. My oldest has a developmental disability and while he is pretty independent, he needs support and services as well. Being on the periphery of my adult children's lives is rewarding and reminds me often how exciting- and challenging- being a younger adult can be.

I have a stubborn dog named Walter. He's part Sheltie, part Corgi and a great companion. He often gets featured in my projects. I appreciate his tenacity and spunk.

I like quirky humor and I read a lot but I don't watch TV, just mostly YouTube videos on topics I like. I appreciate puns, and I play board games with my family and friends.

I have a lot of gardens around my house- from vegetables to flowers but mostly flowers. I lean towards old fashioned flowers I remember in gardens when I grew up. My favorite thing about the gardens is all the wildlife that start coming around- the birds mostly, I'm not as appreciative of the deer. It is a great reminder of the cycles of things, the growth in spring, the quiet of winter.

I live out in the country on a small farm. It's a quiet and beautiful place. I'm lucky that every day I see something that lifts my heart.

I enjoy reading several poetry collections, I like children's books and I enjoy fantasy novels. William Stafford, Mary Oliver, e.e. cummings, Shel Silverstein, Charles Bukowski, Nikki Giovanni. I like Anne Lamott- especially Bird by Bird. Michael Singer's The Untethered Soul.

I like to do some basic sewing- mostly small toys or hobby type things. I do art journaling, and like to draw with colored pencils. I make small books. I dabble in water colors mostly ink and wash. I like to send things I make to friends and family members.

Some of my favorite things are quotes and trivia. I read the encyclopedia as a child and one of my favorite things is still to look things up and learn about them. If someone mentions a word or idea that I'm unfamiliar with- I look it up. It's interesting to me to learn more. I like word games and puzzles, and I like when something traditional gets paired with something surprising.

I enjoy children's books- and love many illustrators of picture books. I'd call my design area Botanical Academic- lots of flora, fauna, nature colors, but words and books, definitions, signs.

I love tea of all kinds- my particular favorites are herbal and any kind of mint variety.

Some of my favorite images include any type of plant, rabbits, frogs, birds, insects, dogs, and numbers. I enjoy unusual images- but I don't use reward stickers or stickers for planners.

I like stickers- especially the ones that you aren't sure about at first. I hope when you send me something, you focus on what you love- and express that so I can see you in what you send.

I enjoy incorporating found objects into what I do- not the standard ticket or ephemera- but unusual images or word designs.
