Color My Rainbow – Red (About 5x7) tip In Page

1 Partner 1 Page Primary Color will be Red

Create a 5x7 art journal page that can be added to an existing journal. Any artistic medium is allowed for this swap; Collages, Inks, Paints (Acrylics, Watercolors, etc). Except digital. (I just prefer not to receive one) You may use stickers, but only as an added touch.

You will have 1 partner. You will only need to complete one side as many people glue them onto another page. Sign the front as you would any piece of artwork you are proud of. Make a small tag with your information on it to be included with the page (can be attached or separate).

When you receive a tip-in page, you open your book and cut 2 pages out of it about ½ to ¾ inches from the gutter. Then you glue the inside of each page, slide your tip-in page into the space that has the glue and sandwich it in between. Now you have a new page to your altered book! These are a great way to share end enjoy another's work without the risk of sending your whole book through the mail as you would do in a round robin."

Red is the color with the longest wavelength and is the nearest visible light to infrared in the electromagnetic spectrum. The color red stands for enthusiasm, passion, anger, energy and security. It educes extreme emotions in people and being a color of passion can lead to hostility, violence and warfare. It even stands for the flush of love that transcends time (red roses symbolize undying love) and is also a symbol of courage, sacrifice, life (blood of life is red) and death. Red stands for cupid on one end and the devil on the other.

I like colour swaps :) Tip in Page means, we also leave 1/2 inch free on the side? Sorry for asking maybe dumb questions, but I have not done a lot of pages yet.

Upon receiving some people mount to a different size sheet for their journal, like to an 8x10 paper, or make it part of a 12x12 page or make a tip in page, if you were adding to an altered book. I would just keep 1/2 in simple on the left side. No 3d objects in that 1/2in then decorate the rest anyway you like.

Thanks, I did the same with 4 x 4 chunky pages

What kind of paper do we have to use? the same thickness as with a chunky book page? Could it be made of fabric also?

Gwillisinc 03/13/2011 #

thinking outside the box, making your page of fabric would be wonderful! (hope I get that one) Anything about a 5x7 size. Any paper you want, it's like a scrapbook page only smaller is all.
