About Me

I collect postage stamps. If you can use on my mail I would be really grateful. I am with 4 yahoo papercrafting swap groups and I have sold on etsy and need to restart again. I DO LOTS OF CARD CRAFTS, SOAP MAKING, SOME SEWING, SOME GENTLE GARDENING, FAMILY HISTORY, READING BUT NO FAVOURITE AUTHOR, LETTERS, LOCAL HISTORY ESP PRE 19THC, GK QUIZES. MY CHOICE OF DESIGN IS FLORAL,ROMANTIC, LACE & RIBBON. I ALSO LOVE COLOURS, TRY TO DO MONO BUT SOON SEE THE BRIGHTS BEING ADDED . LOVE TO SEE FASHION AND LOVE THE SORT OF REGENCY FRENCH MARIE ANTONETTE LOOK- BIG HAIR STYLES, LOTS OF SILKS AND ROOMS FULL OF MIRRORS AND GOLD. MOST MODERN LOOKS ARE TOO COLD AND BORING FOR MY TASTE.
BARE TREES WITH MOON LIGHT, LEAVES AND FUNGI WITH LICHEN & MOSSES, PLANT STALKS WITH COBWEBS DRIPPING WITH DIAMONDS OF DEW ON A FROSTY MORNING, BROWNPAPER, GARDEN STRING, GINGHAM, STRIPES, SPOTS, AND PRETTY FLORALS. OLD CHURCHES AND QUAINT COUNTRY CHURCHYARDS. ISOLATED BEACHES WITH DRIFTWOOD FINDS. CATS, MICE,FOX,SQUIRREL,BADGER,HARE/RABBIT,HEDGEHOG, CHICKEN,DUCK,GOAT, COW. SHEEP, PIG. AND LOTS MORE. SHABBY CHIC LIKE RACHEL ASHWELL,(see her ideas in Amazon books listing) KATH KIDSON, CHRISTINA STRUTT, FRENCH COUNTRY HOUSE STUFF LIKE FABRICS,METAL AND PAINTED FURNITURE. all beautifully aged but without any sign of cheap tattiness which i often find in post 60s onwards

SO WHAT DO I REALLY DISLIKE... man made scent smells like strawberry and apple and peach used in shampoos etc. most sport stuff, science stuff , star wars Dr Who stuff if it is too manly then it is not for me. TAT, that means anything that is rubbish, if it can not be made to look beautiful then throw it. I am the one who given a choice to choose from a selection, zooms in on the expensive item even if I have no idea of its cost. Use cereal box type card as the backing of your design but not as the item itself advertising some food item, that is not creativity. THOSE MAKE BELIEVE CREATURES ON CARDS SO CUTE FOR MANY, BUT OH DEAR I CAN'T ABIDE THEM, , give me real life pictures. Using STICKERS for quickness when it is not really needed, WHERE IS CREATIVITY? ALL I ASK IS TRY TO MAKE STUFF WITH IMAGINATION, LOVE AND JOY. I WANT TO OPEN AN ENVIE AND GASP WITH DELIGHT AND NOT WITH SIGH OF WHY BOTHER TO SPEND POSTAGE. I often say I have taste with an empty purse. Many have money and no taste. I am probably showing my age now but i am not keen on vampires and gothic stuff that the young folk like. i suppose i am a bit serious in what appeals to me. As near as i can get, i do like mullion window art like a piece of stone work from an old building, statues that are classic, i have some in my garden, who I call my ladies in state of undress, so of course I buy in rubber stamps with these classic designs on too. Until recently I was gardening a lot and grew my own collected seed when ever I could. We have a English cottage garden and grow flowers, herbs fruit and vegetables. I love perennials and old fashioned flowers along with the scents, like roses, sweetpeas, pinks etc, I like to eat flowers too, they look so pretty sprinkled on foods or an ice bowl made with them in. Interested in herbs and their uses. make my own olive oil soap. and make jams and jellies which my husband mainly eats. He has a hop garden to make beer with, but I also like the idea of finding something for free, like crab apples and mushrooms etc; it sort of puts me back in history when the world was a more slower and quieter life, but then having said that I probably would not have survived the diseases etc as I am dealing with breast cancer and now had 4 operations for that since September and another one a week later for broken ankle done a day after first cancer op!! Now 6 courses of antibiotics for wound infection in breast is taking its toll. Have now been told I will not have to have radiotherapy before the rebuild is done in summer. It has been a long hard journey so far. I love putting ideas together, whether it is home furnishing or planning a route for a holiday. I think I understand some design how to draw the eye to and how to distract it, which I use for home, garden and dress. I am fascinated how the mind works how it sees what we may take for granted and become unaware of. I enjoy sitting on a bench watching people go by, working out what job they do by they way they dress. Did you realize we all wear uniforms, it may not seem so but we dress to fit in with the situation. I suppose it makes sence why bullying goes on, the prey often has something that is different about them to the others and I suppose like a group of chickens they will hen peck the odd or weak one. I did think for a career if i could do design college course, but was not encouraged by careers adviser when they had factories and shops to get girls into, but then realized i was getting inspired with becoming a soldier and age 17 I took myself off to get the Queens shilling and then told my parents.... need i say anything about the response...ha... When it comes to favourites I am hard to pin down. I either love or hate, so I dislike vegetables, blame the dinner lady when I was 6 who forced me to eat a caterpillar on the cooked cabbage, her short sightness has been the bane of my life since. ♥ english tea, at least it has a good flavour. more so after an english breakfast. liquorice. Wish I could eat choccy again but the stuff gives me headaches...so cruel. Not keen on peppermint. ( have you noticed most men like that), like musky heady scents, dislike citrus perfumes. Would if i remembered to, wear bulky jewellery, I have a go at making my own. I do like shiny stuff when in the right situation, so yes glitter is my middle name.... have you seen my inchies? I have my own collection I can't part with, they are like sweeties to me, something to goo all over as being 100% fat free! Colours, ouch, this is hard too, love cerise/ magenta, mixed with lime or turquoise and warm green. Probably the worse colours is brown and some weak yellows. Again showing my age, I like in music Streisand, Tina Turner, Anni Lennox, Enigma, Era, Dido, but also I hear some new release and think oh I like that and my husband will say what is that bloody row, turn it down..... the first 2 in my list rate that response too, so I wait until I am driving alone and up goes the volume. We have a cat who adopted us. After our other dog and cat died we said no more as they are a tie, but one day saw this little black cat go running across my garden and thought what is wrong with its tail, then saw it again , so I phoned a near by neighbour and asked who it belonged to and she said it was a stray and it's tail was all bloody and turned her off her dinner. I thought you bitch, that animal is in pain and needs help. so I hired a trapping cage from cats protection league and caught him and with the instructions that if he needed treatement to take him to my vet and they will send the bill to the charity, poor baby he was wild alright, the most beautifull long nails any girl would be proud of but deady in this case. so I got him to the vets and they let him out and he climbed a flat wall and wrecked the room. Anyway they operated on his 1/2 of tail making it just a stump now to clear the gangerene and did the undercarriage bits too as part of the charity deal and they said come and collect him. We had no where to keep him with him being wild like, so another local charity lady took him in but we kept asking how he was doing and in the end he came back to our garden and has his own 1 brick removed doorway into the shed and 3 beds in there plus all these other shelters around the garden my gusband has made for him, like hillside cottage and the hoppers hut, And has the cat repaid me for saving his life, has he heck, he loves his daddy and has cuddles from him and just shouts 'food' at me. typical male! Do you smoke? please try to avoid traces on stuff you make me, it really lingers and I even got taste of it recently when I put hand near my mouth and it sort of stung my lips.
