Thanks for the invite to The Hundred Acre Wood. It sounds like a great little group with interesting swaps. And sorry I got a little ranty last night then deleted my post. Thank goodness for that edit button! Every time I start feeling smug, someone pulls the darn smug out from under me!
David Mas Masumoto -- He and his family are peach farmers in the Central Valley. His BEST book is Four Seasons in Five Senses. Poetic prose, or prose-like poetry, which ever you prefer... He's most famous for Epitaph for a Peach, though, which sets up his recurring motif and theme of saving the Elberta Peach, a delicate varietal that was never meant to be mass-produced, gassed, etc. in order to arrive at Safeway as rock-hard, tasteless, but outwardly beautiful peaches (hear the bias there?). He used to sell his peaches at Whole Foods (ahem, Whole Paycheck), but now only Berkeley Bowl has them. Highly highly highly highly recommend his book when you get a chance! He's as much a sweetheart in person, too, as he is in writing. I was lucky enough to meet him and have him sign my copy! :)
Was checking out your profile after our PM exchange and noticed -- voila! -- besides Laura, and Ramona, and My Fair Lady, and Secret Garden -- we have in common a love for Arsenic and Old Lace! I know many who like the above stories and films; however, have never met one who mentioned A&OL (the new AOL, perhaps?) by name! Yay for profile kindred spirits! (And what book is that from?... :) Hugs...
I got the vintage-children's-book-pages-package-of-awesomeness!!! And the card for my Dad... thank you so much!!!! :) So thrilled, honestly. I am looking forward to using these pages.
A love note?!? ooh where, where!!!
That previous message was in reply to something I said and I can barely understand myself but I believe it involved sarcasm and annoyance =D

Thanks for the "warning" about the spooky mail swap! ;) I'm in. And the cupcake toppers look so cute too, they're on my watchlist.
Thankyou for your comment. That made me smile!

I can't wait to participate in another of your swaps. You are a great coordinator. You go above and beyond. I did the Childhood poetry swap.
Dang! I missed your cupcake topper swap. xD
