hey there! I'm going to elaborate on this more later.....I'm being cheeky and doing some personal craft surfing during my working hours. Well, work is a loose term. I'm currently doing a PhD by research in chemistry. It's kind've like between real "work" and being at college. But more about that later. Apart from chemistry and science in general, I love crafting....all types really. While these days I mostly knit and crochet, I also like to sew, make jewellery and other trinkets, bake, cook, and a dozen other things I'm probably forgetting. I love to try all types of crafts.....consequently I'm not an "expert" at any of them, but I have a lot of fun, so that's the important thing.

Love punk, metal and rock in general. The Offspring are my absolute number ones - I owe them a lot, they're the band that got me into music. Apart from that a lot of stuff...just naming names, The Ramones, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, David Bowie, Rammstein, Alkaline Trio, and so on an so forth...

I love to read. My favourite novels are those set in Asia, the culture and the mindset of the characters really interest me. So Haruki Murakami would be an obvious favorite author, but there are so many other good books out there. I''ll write more when I remember their names. I like books about scientific topics too, particularly ones written by people with an actually scientific backgrounds and not just some eejit with an opinion. Simon Singh (The Code Book, Fermat's Last Theorem) is my favorite.

I love to craft in general. I sew, knit, crochet, make jewellery, a little bit of papercrafts, embroidery, and so on. I'll try anything. Lately I've mostly been knitting and crocheting (as I can do them while I'm relaxing).

I like to cook, and love to bake. I'm a big fans of chocolate, and sweets(candy) in general.

My other big hobby would be gaming in general. I'm a member of the Fantasy and Science Fiction society here in my college, so once a week we meet up in college and play various types of nerdy games, and frequently out of college. I really like computer games too, and basically own all Nintendo consoles. My Favourite thing to do on a quiet evening is have a few cold beers with my boyfriend and play some Mario. I like a lot of science-ficiton too. Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Dr Who, Firefly, Dollhouse...my mind's kinda blanking on the others right now, but you get the idea. Comedy wise, things like Have I Got news For you (british show), Arrested Development, 30 rock, Big Bang Theory.....

Other random things about me.... I like tattoos and piercings, having several (my picture is too small but it's me getting tattooed). I love love love cats, but unfortunately can't own any due to living in rented accomodation. I'm not even supposed to have my 2 gerbils (Princess Daisy and Dorian Grey) or my dwarf hamster (Marshmallow) but I do, and they're pretty self contained. I've been going out with my lovely boyfriend for 3 or so years now.

I guess I'd be a goth, or a punk, or whatever people are calling me these days (views a re mixed). Basically, i wear a lot of black, sometimes with a bit of white/grey/red/pink thrown in. Lots of safety pins, lots of patchs, lots of skulls. Most of my clothes are customized from things I find in charity (thrift) shops.

-Love love love chocolate, sweets (candy) and anything with sugar in it in general! I have a very very sweet tooth. Caramels, gummies, peanuts, it;s all good. I have no big hates when it comes to sweet things, except licorice (gross!). I love to try chocolates and sweets from other countries that I can't get here in Ireland.

-Japanese food - ramen, sushi, sticky rice, fish, love it love it love it. Big fan of noodles and rice in general.

-I bake a lot. I make a bad ass chocolate cake, my other specialty being peanut butter mini muffins. I have a special soft spot for cinnamon too.

I can't really think of any major hates I have, snackage wise. And apart from that, it's not as if anyone is going to send me a 3 course dinner in the post! :)
