I love writing and all things ink. I used to be pretty active with pen pals and sending postcards but a lot of my pen pals have moved on to other things so I'm looking to build up a new community of pen pals! If you think you might want to get to know me a bit better, I’d be happy to become pen pals!
A bit more about me ... I have two sweet dogs, a westie and a husky and we love going for walks in wooded areas. I use our time during walks to take photos of interesting wildlife and really enjoy identifying the many kinds of mushrooms that grow in our area. Nature is incredibly important to me and something that I try really hard to experience everyday.
If you have any questions about me, please feel free to ask. I'm always up for making new friends. Oh! I also speak a random amount of languages - Latin, German, French, Spanish, English - so if you ever want to speak/write in any of those languages I can to some degree.
I adore all things calligraphy, hand lettering, and fountain pens. I'm also obsessed with high quality paper!
I also paint and draw (badly) so you'll see some of that on swaps you get from me. My dream is get over my fear of drawing badly and get into scientific illustration or botanical illustration. One day!
I journal nearly every day, but in more of the modern scrap-booky sort of way. I love using photos, washi tape, and layers of papers and stickers to create altered pages and stuff alongside my daily ramblings.
One of my favorite places to splurge is a Japanese site called Yozo Craft. I could literally buy everything she has on that site.
I also have a strange affinity for Zines. I collect them and make them about really random things. Also as a teacher, I like sharing interesting zines that I have collected over the years with them. I am trying to encourage them to make zines and distribute them around town this year.
Finally, I'm obsessed with planners (not really a bujo-er though) and the Midori Traveller's Journals. I only recently started using them and have already filled up many of them with my journaling.
I really love anything that has the forest on it. I also really love forest animals. As a science teacher, I also really love things that are vintage sciencey (old classrooms, people in lab coats, etc) and swoon over anything vintage space.
I prefer postcards and letters to anything else really, I will rarely do a parcel swap unless it involves crafting something or the prompt is super interesting!
When writing to me, it would be so lovely to hear about your day, quotes you live by, or fun things to do in your city. I try to do the same for anyone I write to as well.
I love sending and receiving postcards from all over the world. My favorites are vintage landscape postcards and forests. I also collect space postcards and would absolutely love any postcards dealing with NASA or that have pictures of stars or planets on them. I’m not really into cute cards, coloring cards, or ad cards, but I’m not going to post a long list of dislikes because I am just happy to be able to swap on this site!
