Hello! My name is Sam, and I am a 22-year-old from Pennsylvania, USA. I am nonbinary and use they/them pronouns.

My favorite color is orange! Green, yellow, and blue are tied for second :) I love plants and gardening- I might just send you some seeds! Stickers are one of my favorite things to send and receive. For ephemera, I like cute, vintage, colorful, and/or natural aesthetics.

I like the look of cottagecore, dark academia, bright colors in minimalism, and pastels.

I am a university student in school to become a librarian. I graduated with an English Literature and Gender and Women's Studies minor in 2020.

I love to send letters and used to penpal weekly in elementary into middle school until my penpal moved and we lost touch. I hope that I can use this space to connect with people and learn more about the world and myself through the process!

I like to think deeply about topics as well as ask and answer questions. Reading books (memoir, fiction, and graphic novels) watching movies (horror, comedy, and animation) and crafting (knitting, crochet, and sewing) are things I use to keep busy when not working at the library in my area.

Some topics I like to talk about and think about are literature and words, nature and gardening, activism and feminism, art and how it affects the world, daily life such as thoughts, feelings, and dreams. But I am also open to talking and learning about things I don't have experience with or have not listed here. Being exactly like me is not a requirement I would look for in a friend nor a penpal.

I practice calligraphy, create blackout poetry, and do collages as a hobby. I would love to share these things with a penpal and there is no obligation to send the same or similar back. I would love to make a penpal small gifts of art or poetry.

But overall, I really want to exchange thoughtful letters over time with someone and become friends. I believe that it is the people in our lives that make the world a beautiful place worth living in.

I like music with quirky lyrics and an upbeat feel. I listened to Y2K country, pop music, and classic/soft rock growing up. I like dance, folk, and indie music, too.

My favorite teas include black teas and green teas. I don't really like dessert flavored teas, but I would be willing to try anything green, herbal, etc. that isn't in my favorites. I'd love to try something new!
