About Me

Hi! It's nice to meet you. It's been a while since I've been on this site, but I am definitely glad to be back. I've been craving creativity and this was always a great outlet for that. I'm a 30-year-old from Ontario, Canada. I work a pretty standard desk job during the day and I'm hoping to reignite some creativity in my downtime. I love reading and writing. I haven't done a lot of creative writing recently, but I would like to begin doing that again. I found these wonderful little notebooks with blanks pages (gotta be blank pages) and at the time I needed to have them just in case. They still sit among my books on my bookcase. I have 2 pretty great brothers (I'm a middler) and a great boyfriend of 5 years.

Favorite Television

I am in love with Netflix, really and truly. Most recently, as in just yesterday, I watched Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. It's a food documentary surrounding those four elements of meals and cuisine. It takes you to Italy for fat, Japan for salt, South America for Acid and so on. It is everything that I'm about. I adore travelling, I need it in my life. I also love food and cooking, so it really couldn't have been more perfect.

Favorite Crafts

I am genuinely obsessed with viewing other people's journals. I love the combination of diary and art journal, I think it is so beautiful. I'd love to have that with my own personal journal. I love the layering of washi tapes, photos and stickers. I feel like it is so personal to the individual and viewing them just allows you to have a glimpse into someone's free formed emotions if that makes sense.

I also really enjoy little trinkets. I love handmade polymers, ceramic pins, enamel pins, little felt figurines, stone carvings or anything made of natural elements ( I have a beautiful set of ceramic Japanese bowls and two little clay pots that sit atop my stove - they have sea salt and ground pepper). I love wood and bamboo bowls.

Collections

Office supplies and art paper... I have an intense weakness for beautiful fine tip pens, colours felt tip marks, deco tapes, adorable post-its, both simple and decorative notebooks, decorative envelopes, postcards, paper clips (I have a set of pineapple paper clips and they never fail to make me smile), unique pinboard pins, and so many other office supplies.

I also have started collecting some speckled ceramics. I love them so dearly, it's a complete vibe that just... sends me back to a simpler time where ceramics were values and treasured.

Filled journals! I recently saw someone flipping through a shared journal and I am hooked, I definitely want to begin collecting them. I'm excited.

Update (11/18/18) - I recently came across Pocket Letters and.... how did I not know about them sooner?! I've started joining Pocket Letter swaps and I'm excited to get started. In the process of looking into Pocket Letters and what the contents can include and I came across Ephemera. I've started to try and include little handmade decos and I think I'm going to try some die cutting (which also, how did I not know about these!?)... I'm in love with it all.

A Piece of My Bucketlist

  • Travel to Italy
  • Travel to Australia
  • Living abroad
  • Travel to Denmark
  • Learning 3 new languages
  • Finish a degree
  • Take a cooking course in 7 different countries
  • Read 12 books a year
  • Keep a journal for the remainder of my life

Those are just a few, but my list is constantly growing and changing

Always Welcome

This isn't a wish list, but a list of things that are always welcome :)

  • yummy individually wrapped tea or coffee (I love tea)
  • sticker sheets - sender's choice
  • journal or list prompts
  • cute blank tags
  • penpal supplies (cute stationery, envelopes, etc.)
  • cute decos and eupherma (lace ribbons, twine, newspaper clippings, etc.)
  • friendship, squash, and flip books
  • old/used stamps
  • unused unique postcards (handmade or store bought)
  • watercoloured items
  • travel related items (stickers, stamps, postage, coins, travel tags, passport-like stamps)
  • travelling journals or letters
  • cute doodles (either stickers or made by you :))
  • cute food related items (stickers, stamps, stationery, etc. - I love pineapples.. it's a little embarrassing)
  • lots of die cuts ( I love die cuts )
  • any extra "junk" you're getting rid of (stationery, sticker sheets, scrapbook paper, note cards, journal cards, decos, etc. - I'm building my stash)
  • cute enamel charms or pins
  • lots of punch type labels (the typer writer style)
  • travelling notebooks, letters, or postcards
  • pastel, monotone, grey hue, classic, modern themes
  • purple and green are my favourite colours (never together but separately)
  • anything related to your culture (I love learning about other cities and countries, so any little trinkets or items related to your country would be lovely)
  • recipes with picture (I'm always looking for new delicious vegetarian, vegan, or plant-based, in general, would be awesome because I'm trying to go plant-based - currently still a meat eater though so any recipe is welcome)
  • your grocery list with receipts (it sounds odd yes, but I LOVE seeing what other families or individuals shop for the week - budgeting is a major focus for me so I think that is where it stems from haha)
  • moon cycles or astrological items (I'm learning about the 12 houses and the planets movement through those houses, so I'd love moon stickers, postcards, note cards, constellation stickers, drawings, etc.)
  • tarot items (I'm also learning about tarot cards, so send me your favourite card and what the significance is to you)

Comment: Your letter arrived today, number 3. The interesting thing is it was opened and resealed by the US Dept. of Homeland Security. I hope all was left in the envelope. I will answer soon.
Response: So disappointment in the postal service the past few months, I'm hoping you received everything I sent. I figured I'd keep trying, but I was so frustrated. I'd sent one of my other penpals a small parcel and it arrived nearly destroyed and anything of value (two blank note books and a pen) taken out.

Response: I adore cookbooks! I just got some from the library. The Modern Cook has some great recipes and The Minimalist Baker. It has a recipe for Chickpea Tofu that sounds great :)
