My name is Karen and I'm an American, but have been living in Finland since 1997. I'm married to a Finn and we have a son born in 2001. We also have cats (or they have us).

I'm happiest when I have paper, scissors, and glue. I love to make mini albums or small pieces of art. I love making ATCs and mini pocket letters.

I also crochet. My grandmother taught me the basics when I was young and then I picked up a book in my 20s and started again. I make baby afghans most of the time. I have a Christmas afghan that I started 20 years ago and hope to finish some day.

I'm trying to learn to sew. My machine is old, a gift from my mother-in-law who received it from her mother. The threading is daunting and I can never remember how to thread it. I need to learn how to use it so I can sew on my cards and layouts. Oh, and there's that cathedral quilt I started years ago. Learning to sew would help with a lot of things.

My husband is usually in charge of the music. We do have similar tastes, but I grew up in the U.S. and he grew up in Finland. I was more into rock and I still love it. He likes that synth European stuff. I've learned to like it, even love it, but I still keep the harder stuff in my iTunes.

I cook and bake. A lot. My favorite things to bake are cookies and cupcakes.

As soon as the snow melts enough to let me get to my grill, I start grilling.

I play Pokemon Go with my husband. There are many adults in my area who play, so we see many of them every day. We always meet new PoGo players when we travel, too. It's a lot of fun! I only like the virtual Pokemon, though.

I enjoy anything that is well-written. I've read a lot of fantasy books as well as the Twilight and Hunger Games series. In the last few years, I've found that I really like Dale Carnegie's books and have looked for others like them.

Lately, I've been reading historical novels. Most have been about WWII.

What can you send me? Supplies for card making, ribbon - even 6-12 inches, washi or deco tape, a sheet of glue dots. Sequins and other small embellishments. Used postage stamps would be great!

Printed digital stamps or some stamped images to color. The digital stamps should be a size that's good for cards.

I like black tea. I don't care for fruity tea, but dh likes it. He drinks much more tea than I do.
