I am 53 years young, mother of four adult children, an English/Language Arts teacher, and an artist.
I live in the soggy but beautiful Pacific Northwest and enjoy gardening, cooking, baking, running, crocheting, reading, writing poetry, and creating art. I have participated in some art and ATC swaps through Instagram and Facebook. I am also a member of Postcrossing (an international postcard swapping website).
In the summer, my husband and I love to travel by motorcycle and go glamping :)
I like everything except country. Currently, I am listening to groups such as Young the Giant, Imagine Dragons, Aloe Blacc, Amos Lee, Weaver at the Loom, The Neighbourhood, and Josiah Leming. I also like disco and dance music, especially when I am running.
I am a voracious reader. Being an English/Language Arts teacher, I mostly read Young Adult Literature (YAL). I am on Goodreads ( user name: Penney Samuel). I also read poetry, and have had the privilege of meeting Lucille Cliffton.
I enjoy movies, but I don't watch them often. I couldn't tell you the last movie I watched, much less my favorite movie :)
We don't have cable, but we do have Netflix. My favorite TV show is Dr. Who, followed closely by Futurama. When we had cable, I liked Jeopardy and The Big Bang Theory.
I love crafts of all kinds. I enjoy making cards, using my gelli plate, making ATCs, postcards, art cards, zentangle, doodling, drawing, art journaling, and anything else that has to do with paper, paint, pens, crayons, pencils, etc.
I love writing poetry and fiction and have had my poetry published in two literary journals. During my undergraduate studies, I was the poetry editor of my university's literary and arts journal. Throughout my college career, I tutored writing, grammar, math, natural science, and spanish.
Sometimes swaps are surprises based on a person's profile, so I thought I should provide a list of items I'd love to receive should I join that type of swap :) My favorite color is purple, so you can't go wrong when using that as a guideline!
I love songbirds and trees, so cards, stationary, postcards, sticky notes, etc with a bird or tree theme will be cherished.
I drink mostly tea. My preferred tea is Numi (breakfast blend and chocolate pur-reh). I love to try new teas, but I don't like having to buy an entire box of tea to try a new brand or flavor.
I love anything literature or book themed.
I love quotes on cards, magnets, bookmarks
I like vintage paper ephemera -- anything from a page out of a children's book to an advertisement from a magazine. Blank ledger pages, old library check out cards, old card catalog cards.
I love when friends share their favorite recipes - please know that I am a vegetarian, so meatless recipes are greatly appreciated.
I love rubber stamps -- new or used.
I love old postage stamps and stickers
Lavender is my favorite natural scent.

From CPG!
Happy Birthday!
Happy New Year to you too! I miss swapping here too but life is too busy right now. I hope 2019 is wonderful for you! Will try to keep in touch. ๐
Thanks for the beautiful gelli print card surprise! Wax resist! DUH! Why haven't I tried this yet? (I LOVE all resist techniques). I'm glad to see you so actively swapping -- your artwork is always beautiful and inspirational. I am working on getting my gardens in shape so that I can spend the horrible hot Ohio summer in my cool basement art studio! :) Will be sure to play with some wax! Thanks for the lovely letter and cool bee postage stamp. May you have a glorious springtime! <3<3<3
