I work in the counseling area, so knitting and other crafts help me to unwind and relax. I learned to knit at age six. I am originally from Peru but in the US for many years. I have a husband, a six year-old son and three cats. Love autumn, winter (so can wear scarfs and sweaters), Christmas, the sea, fine chocolate, coffee, herbal teas, running, some yoga and spending time with the people I love! I love the color blue in all shades, like the mix of pink and blue, pastels, earth tones, some reds, but on yarn I like almost anything, Not to fond of neon or bright colors. I like people who are honest, friendly and able to admit their mistakes. I believe in second chances and that what goes around comes around (good or bad)

I like crafts in general but my favorites are: Knitting and crochet: I knit scarves, hats, shawls, sweaters, etc. I Love YARN! All colors and textures, I mix acrylics with novelty yarn, wool, etc. but alpaca is my favorite. Specially, I like yarn that goes from light to dark shades, in any color! The only yarn I don't like too much is afghan yarn (red heart and the likes) plus I inherited tons of it. I believed in recycling so I had re-knit a couple of sweaters, mixing new and old yarn, and voila! Lately, I have being experimenting with felting. Cross-stitch, quilting, rug hooking and beading are my other crafts. I have done some miniature work on 1" scale, one day I will start my Santa's workshop doll house. I like to collect Santas and snowmen. Try to decorate the whole house, in the past I used to do Christmas ornaments to give away. I would like to learn how to dye yarn with natural dyes and how to do lace.

I like all kind of music, oldies from the 70's or 80's, R&B, salsa, classic, etc.

I read a lot of professional books and magazines but to relax I enjoyed a good mystery novel. Sometimes, a romantic novel. I really enjoy Latin-American writers.
I also like to get crochet, knitting books, Nicky Epstein's books are my favorite.

I am following "Damages" right now and the final season of ER. Loved "In treatment". We are movie watchers drama, comedy, etc. But sci-fiction is what we enjoy the most : Pitch Black, the Terminators, Aliens, Star Trek (all the generations), etc. But lately we are into kids movies: Bolt, the Incredibles, Cars, etc.

This is my third swapping website. I do the paperback and the DVD swaps. My experiences have been pretty good with these sites, that encouraged me to enter this one for my crafty alter ego. I love to swap. It is so nice that complete strangers make the time to read my profile and choose what I like. I love to give hearts not just for extra stuff but for the thoughtfulness of the swappers. Kindness should be rewarded everyday. If for some reason you can't send a swap on time, please let me know and I'll wait. Fabric swaps: Cotton fabrics, I'm looking for soft greens, yellows, pinks, light blues and delft blue ( on this large prints are okay)I prefer small prints for a new quilt (flowers, stripes, small designs). Batik is my new favorite! I like most of them, except for the very dark or neon ones.
