I'm the girl who goes to movies and dinner alone, who refuses to sit at home bored because her friends or family can't go with. I'm a big music freak! recently got into some indie stuff (ie rilo kiley, she & him, death cab for cutie, vampire weekend, holly golightly & the brokeoffs) nothing too obscure yet but if you recommend me something, i'll give it a listen! I like to consider myself pretty open minded when it comes to music and will give any genre a chance. I love opera, classical, rock, rap, pop, merengue, salsa, country, french music(!), broadway classics, rancheras, tejano, etc, etc.. favorite artists include: george strait, cake, foo fighters, cafe tacuba, ricky martin (spanish stuff mostly), shakira (spanish stuff mostly!), she & him, feist, the killers, pitbull, lady gaga, britney spears (earlier stuff), paula abdul, death cab, toadies, victor manuel, aventura, brooks & dunn, and many many more..

I love to read, especially Chick Lit such as something borrowed, watermelon, dirty girls social club. One of my favorite books to reread is the GIRLS NIGHT OUT anthology and the GIRLS NIGHT IN anthology. I came to know many great writers b/c of these books and definitely recommend it to y'all.. one of the short stories is bound to hook you and have you going in search of other works by the women who write them. One of my favorite books of all time is BITTER GROUNDS by Sandra Benitez. Lost my copy recently and have not replaced it yet but i try to read it at least once a year. (its a very thick book!!) I have cataloged all the books that I currently own but I will soon if anyone is interested. I don't have very many friends who read (sad) and I'm usually the one who is giving books to my friends to read. I also have to go on record here and say that I absolutely LOVED the Harry Potter series. I got into them very late in the game but I assure you that had I known how good they were back then, I would have been one of the dorks who were camped out at the bookstores waiting to buy the newest saga. I'm really into the romantical novels (since I get so little of it in real life.. haha!) but I will give anything suggested a read..

I am a huge move freak!! I have a netflix account and have it set up at all the residences where I mostly hang out (wii at friends, playstation at sisters, laptop at home and disks thru mail). I love foreign comedies and romance, thrillers, scary movies, action, documentaries. One of my all time faves would have to be Amelie. oh, and Pride & Prejudice!! i totally cried and love me some Colonel Brandon.. so romantic and gentlemanly, devoted and amazing. I also love cartoons (Up, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast, Despicable Me, Wall*e, etc) and muscials (Mary Poppins, Grease, Phantom of the Opera). Zombie movies that are awesomely gory can entertain me for hours as can sci-fi action movies (star wars, LOTR, Harry Potter). Was lucky enough to attend SXSW in 2009 and so began my love of documentaries and low budget up & coming directors. A favorite being 500 Days Of Summer. not to sound dumb or cocky or anything like that but I have a knack for picking movies that are really well acted and produced. Any corny movie that I've seen and didn't like was a direct result of letting others pick the movie. A lesson I have learned to avoid only when going to the theater as I don't want to waste my money paying the expensive ticket price! haha..

I don't really like watching tv, unless I have nothing to do and then its mostly syndicated shows or the dvds of shows or movies. I have no must see tv shows that I make a point of staying in to watch. I like comedy shows mainly, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Futurama. I have recently gotten into the True Blood series, thanks to my sister who is addicted to vampires. lol. I really loved watching Freaks & Geeks but then it got cancelled. boo. Catching Seinfeld on TBS is fun sometimes as is Will & Grace on Lifetime. haha..Oh, I love me some Entourage but haven't watched since season 5. Didn't really get into the whole Lost thing cause it was too loopy for me and I asked alot of questions, annoying anyone who would watch with me. I did like Heroes but stillhaven't finished watching season 2. haha.. um, i used to love music videos but where are the channels that still play them? who knows.

Haven't gotten into too many crafts. The biggest that I still keep up with is scrapbooking. But I'm more into the putting down a story onto paper aspect rather than the keeping up with the newest, hottest trends. I love rub-ons, flowers, and sticker letters. I recently got into stamping and am collecting quite a few of the clear stamp sets that you need to stick to an acryllic block to use. I've taken a few card making classes, mainly for valentines and like to make christmas cards on my own also. I was into beading and jewelry making a few years ago and still have few of those bead boxes under my bed, waiting for the time that I go back to it. I'm starting to learn to knit/crotchet from my mom and haven't gotten done with my scarf yet. lol.. Scrapping takes a lot of my time!! That is my one true love...

I love to write. mainly in my journal for no one but me to see. I don't really collect any one thing in particular but I love Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) things more than anything. postcards, calendars, cute figurines. My favorite flower is gerbera daisy, I like candy especially spicy mexican candy!, not really a big coffee drinker, I like fruity teas, I like sweet sincere gestures from people, and weird stuff. Don't really know how to explain that last one other than to say surprise me! don't really stress yourself out trying to find the perfect thing to send me. I'm pretty easy to please as long as you put a little thought and explanation to the swap! :}
