I love mail art! (Mapps is my send out name). As far as my aesthetic preferences go, I am aligned with the FLUXUS movement and advocate spontaneous acts of self-expression. I vastly prefer the handmade to the corporate. I have too much stuff, so rarely will you find me in a swap that focuses on dollar store items --unless they are being creatively altered in some way. That said, I am not a picky person and appreciate the time and effort people put into swaps --especially when they take time to make things themselves. Anything you make will make me smile. I am Buddhist (Map'ung is my dharma name and inspired my swap bot and mail art name --Mapps -- I am interested in and open to other religious traditions, but do not seek to be converted :) --best not to send scriptures, vedas, sutras, etc). Finally, I have kept chickens, and hope to again. I have a small, but growing collection of chicken, duck and geese related items. I have two dogs and a cat. I also collect maps of all kinds. For all my peace lovin' ways I am a hockey fan!

Recent Favorite: Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver; Books on gardening and any cookbooks on eating seasonally appropriate food, books on Buddhism, especially, Zen. I can't get enough books on knitting or paper crafts. Can you?

Mail art and/or handmade envies, knitting, altered art, all forms of paper arts --with an increasing interest in origami, tea bag, and iris folding; ribbons, interesting paper scraps and ephemera, paper beads and jewelry made from paper beads, origami brooches (see etsy store above), unmounted rubber stamps, old book pages, tea. I am more artsy than I am cute and cuddly, but will try to match my style to your preference when possible!

Your art work, something hand crafted, rubber stamps --I prefer unmounted artsy stamps to cute stamps--, anything to add to my chicken, duck, and geese collection, seed packets suitable for zone 8 (esp. organic and heirloom seeds), book pages from children's books, vintage or antique books and/ or book pages (highly desired), foreign language books or book pages, anything Tim Holz--I love those re-inkers!, interesting brads, natural fibers yarn (bamboo, flax, wool, hemp, cotton), unmounted stamps (ums), anything related to Buddha or Buddhist teachings, Asian images and artifacts, yuzen or vintage paper scraps or papers, something special from your region of the world (or your state or hometown), green tea (or unusual tea mixes from around the world--loose tea is fine). Colors: Celadon, blue and white, red. gold, deep purple. As for scents: I am open --but do have a slight preference of musky to floral, and am more floral than fruity. Patchouli and sandlewood and musk are favorite scents. Home Decor: Eclectic: Living Room: traditional Colonial; Den: World/Ethnic; Dining Room: French Provincial; Bedroom: India.

I love the surprise elements of swaps so please don't feel compelled to go out and buy any of the items. Have fun and be imaginative.
