I have been enjoying the Farmer's Wife 1930s quilt-a-long so much! However, because of my rush to finish Christmas quilts, I have put my blocks on hold for now. I am handpiecing each block, which is taking me a while. I usually do them in the car as we travel to our granddaughter's gymnastics meets. She is done for the season now, so my car trips are down to a minimum! LOL!
I am so looking forward to this swap. I love pastels/soft colors. I am not much of a bold color person. I don't know that I have a favorite block, but, since I am doing them all by hand, there are some I dislike more than others. I do not like paper piecing by hand, so need to redo some of the blocks and use the templates from the CD to cut my fabric.
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and retired Nurse Practitioner who cared for homeless people. It was a great job, but, since my husband has been retired for 6 years, I finally called it quits in May. I did start back in October at one company for 1 day a week, caring for seriously mentally ill clients. Since many of our homeless folks were mentally ill, I see some of the same people, which is a bonus for me. We have one dog.
I try to be an athlete; I did a sprint triathlon with our oldest daughter a few months ago. I love my bike and enjoy swimming; I am not much of a runner, so that is the most difficult part of the tri for me. I am planning on doing 3-4 tris next year if I can get myself out the door to train. Our dog likes to go on runs with us; she doesn't care if we are running or on our bikes. But, we only take her about 1/4 mile if we are on our bikes since she gets tired and thirsty.
I am ready to see who my swap partner is; I am hoping there are more in the future so we get to know people in other parts of the world.
