eekanif

I used to be FIN... but the change stuff that happened recently caught me by surprise, and now I'm stuck with eekanif (which I don't HATE, but doesn't feel the same to me) and I can't tell how to change me back to Fin. Sigh.

moderately crafty mommy in michigan with a bent for things halloween-y, i have a family and a new home, i love red lipsticks (anything with a blue undertone especially) and the color orange; i like spiders and skulls - - almost in a punk-rock way, but more in that "i really dig halloween way"

i will listen to just about anything with the exception of Gangsta, Country, or Gospel. I love my 80's punk and pop, I love music for haunting my house, and I'm still keen on Christmas tunes. Surprise me. It makes me smile.

scary stuff, cook books, modern lit, Jane Austen

horror, anime, thrillers, some sci-fi, period, I'm on Netflix, and we use it like crazy.

what I watch now: the biggest loser, ghost hunters, survivor and CSI. Sometimes Ghost Whisperer. Sometimes whatever's on Food Network.

My primary crafts right now are knitting and learning to crochet. I sew. I do some bead stuff. I do some paper stuff. I dabble in clay. I've made soap and candles in the past, and wouldn't mind going back. Mostly I like to keep my hands busy.

i have an old cat (Ghengis) and a young bunny (Nooj) who are attention hogs and loved all the more because of it. Our Noojie seems to be entering puberty these days, so we're learning all the ins and outs of her crazy nesting behaviors.

I like novelties, and some good old-fashioned standards too...

::: Illustrations and Whatnot ::: Emily Strange, Edward Gorey, Hello Kitty and ChocoCat, ugly monsters, vampire-y things and ghostey stuff, skulls and spiders too

::: Colors ::: i love orange. next to that is the wonderful green that falls anywhere between key-lime and moss. I don't like pastels much at all, and vibrant colors don't suit me (except for the orange) but LOVE muted tones of just about everything. also - always - earthtones, and ever-faithful black

::: Fabric ::: i like stuff with small or no pattern or print. i love interesting weaves and textures. not too keen on polyester, but i'm open to interesting fakes; i ADORE fur and feathers and boas (the things one intentionally wears about one's neck, not the snakes - though they're ok too, just not as fabric)

::: beads and baubles ::: love lampwork glass, and millefiore, and sparkely things - what the heck, i'm a girl, right?

::: papergoods and sticky stuff ::: surprise me. i just don't really care for anything with that queasy 60's / 70's feel to it is all.

::: edibles ::: i don't drink coffee and don't overly care for chocolate (though white chocolate is ok) and have never been a fan of "herbal teas" - otherwise i'm pretty open to trying new things. faves? red licorice, black jellybeans, toffees and caramels

::: random ::: i like temporary tattoos and body jewels and shoelaces and monkeys and kid stuff and grownup stuff too. i don't know, i'm flexible (figuratively, literally - not so much)

My daughter (who goes by FooFoo) is 3 and a half and full of love and life and laughter. She's a voracious reader, a budding crafter (she really enjoys foam crafts right now), and loves to help mama bake. I'd love to have the opportunity to home school her (which right now is just a dream) and we do a lot of learning activities at home in preparation. She's just starting to read (3 letter words) and is giddy with the new power. She has a heart like a lion, and she's funny as anything. Did I mention she's the light of my life?
