UPDATE 8/11/13 Back to School! I will still be doing swaps but slowing down since the school year is in full swing. :)

I am a Christian, wife, mother, and teacher. I support Greyhound adoption, and we currently have two dogs: one Greyhound and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. I have new chihuahua grand pup we adore!

I am a veteran high school English teacher and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teacher sorority.

I love shopping at thrift and consignment stores.

Although we are not a pet-free home, we are a smoke-free home.

I enjoy swapping and gift giving. I am an active member of PaperbackSwap. I am in this to have fun. :)

I enjoy reading Amish romances. My favorite author right now is Cindy Woodsmall.

I also enjoy reading self-help books. Due to my current health issues, I am reading lots books about perimenopause and practical weight loss.

Since I am an English teacher, reading is my life. I usually have some sort of non-fiction read going all the time.

I love Downton Abbey!

Currently watching: Cedar Cove, Sherlock, Copper, classic Hawaii Five-O, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer

I do need a little daily dose of non-reality drama in my life, so I do record and watch The Young and Restless everyday. My favorite line to laugh at in Y&R: "You don't know who you are messing with." Repeated ad nauseam by Victor Newman.

I love all blues and greens.

Christmas is my favorite time of year and holiday.

-anything for the kitchen with owls (this is my new kitchen theme)

-notepads, stationery (writing paper as well as blank cards), Post-it notes, stickers for use at school, colored ink pens, and dry erase markers

-bookmarks of all types

-coffee (but not flavored coffee), hot cocoa, and tea (Earl Grey or Black)

-I love all chocolate but dark chocolate is my favorite with white chocolate coming in second

-floral scented soaps and candles--NO fruity or food scents

-bubble bath plus any and all bath related goodies

-bags and purses

-aprons--I only own bib aprons, but I would love to start collecting and using vintage aprons or cute themed aprons of any size or shape

-Christian themed items--especially crosses and anything with the word "Grace" on it

-Shabby Chic

-Gooseberry Patch

-Precious Moments. I collect Precious Moments figurines that feature a mother and baby or a little girl.

-Etsy. I buy most of my Christmas gifts here.

My DD is very creative and fun-loving teen. She especially loves anything Doctor Who, Japanese, and anything with cupcakes on it.

She enjoys learning about different cultures.

Her favorite colors are purple, lime green, and orange.

She likes stuffed animals, stickers, nail polish, bracelets, and crafting supplies.

She loves to read, draw, play video games, and make videos on the computer.

Her favorite restaurant is Zaxby's, and her favorite stores are Lowe's and Target.
