I'm a 40-something gal who lives in New York City. A native New Yorker, I enjoy traveling to other countries, artsy and cultural events, highbrow and lowbrow activities, seeing live music, and learning new things.

It's difficult to offend me, which means I may not be as aware of what offends other people as I should be. Many things amuse and entertain me, but not much is related to popular culture. I don't watch TV at all, so I'm out of the loop about reality shows, vampires, and whatever else is on.

I like vintage things: old photos, old postcards, old records (especially 45s), old magazine ads, old hats, old glass beads or costume jewelry (even if it's broken or missing stones), old trinkets and souvenirs. If it's from before you were born, I'll probably like it.

As for postcards, I like all kinds, but my all-time favorites are lenticular cards (the kind where the image changes or winks or looks three-dimensional) and homemade cards using postage stamps, rubber stamps, or spin art. I wish I was as creative as some of the folks who have sent me cards in the past! I have no preference about receiving cards in an envelope or naked; but if it's a handmade card, I think it's better to send it in an envelope so that it doesn't get ruined by the postal service. Either way is fine, though.

Not a fan of religious icons, sports themes, anime, or cutesy stuff like Holly Hobbie (that may be too old for you to remember, heh!), Strawberry Shortcake, Hello Kitty, or pictures of puppies and kittens. (I like animals, though! Just not the syrupy depictions of them.) Nudity, crass humor, and questionable content are all okay by me.

I have many, many, many advertising postcards which I have collected over the years and I really need to unload a lot of them; so if you like or collect them, let me know and I'll send you some. You don't even have to send me anything back! I just want to mail them out to people who want them, rather than their ending up in the recycling bin.
