Hey yall! This has been a heck of a week, we lost everything in Hurricane Michael. We are staying with some friends until we figure out what our next move will be. There still is no power, they are hoping we will have power the 25th of this month...we just got spotty cell service today. If you have me for a partner, please dont send anything, our mailbox is smashed under a giant oak. I am so sorry I am not able to fulfil swaps I am in. I had swaps ready to send out but when our roof blew off the rain came in and our ceilings and insulation came down. I hope to be able to come back to swap bot sometime, please understand my situation.
10/23/18 Update we got power yesterday! WooHoo for hot showers (bathing in the water hose was pretty cold but we were thankful to get clean!). We went out to our house and my husband put up a new mailbox ~I love him so much! I am working on getting swaps sent out. Thank you so much for the kind words, I have been trying to keep up with the emails but it has been hard. LOL You all are so sweet! I really appreciate the hosts who have volunteered to angel swaps, you rock and are so amazing. We still are at a standstill with our house, and do not have power there. I havenât seen media coverage of this storm but it was intensely devastating. So many of my friends and loved ones lost their homes or had severe damage. We never saw it coming, I was so worried about the storm surge...We bought my Grandfatherâs house, he built it with his own two hands, he went through Opal in this house and the water was two inches from coming in. Our news stations kept saying the storm surge, the storm surge. We honestly never saw this coming. I had a chair topped with cases and a 7 gallon container of water holding my living room door closed because the suction in the house kept opening and closing it. It got to the point where it pushed that chair with three cases of water and a full seven gallon container of water and was still opening and closing, my husband and I leaned our bodies into it to hold it closed. We heard a crash and when the wind died down he opened the door and said âyou donât want to know.â I asked âwhat was it?â He said âthe fireplace caved in.â The wind from this storm knocked down 9 beautiful full grown oaks throughout our yard....laid them over with their roots in the air stretching so much taller than my 5â7 self. It ripped the rafters out of our house. I will never stay for another storm ever again. The really ironic thing and the thing that saved us was there was no storm surge, we werenât even on the most powerful side of the storm. That happened to the cities to the east of us. They got hit so much worse! If you pray, please keep my beautiful, broken city and neighbors in your prayers.
Thank you for reading, and checking on me. Hugs Bridgette
I love anything to do with paper....folding, cutting, gluing, painting- so much more! I am giddy to get into exchanges- I think it is awesome to share your love of created things. I am excited about seeing what others are doing as well and learning new techniques while getting to know great crafty people! I am a pen and paper loving soul, not the best at technology. I bullet journal to keep up with life and the fun things that come along.
Family Life~ I am a wife and mother. I have a teenage son and two small Chihuahua mix dogs, we have have 14 chickens at the moment. I love the different breeds that lay colorful eggs and are pretty to look at. We live in a beautiful part of Florida that is by the ocean and also by a creek that has lots of gorgeous springs to explore. We love being outdoors camping and kayaking and fishing. I try to always sneak a small tote of craft supplies on our outings to craft with.
I don't have any allergies that I know of. I am not too picky and fairly easily pleased and excited.
Peacocks, feathers, hot air balloons, mermaids, fish, ocean creatures, lighthouses, cactus, hibiscus flowers, frogs, lizards, forest animals, chickens, roosters, other farm animals, fall themes and colors, elephants, camping, dragons, tea and coffee. Colors I love: teals, turquoises, blues, and greens.
I enjoy making ATCs- it is so neat to be inspired by someone/something and be able to make a pocket size piece of art to share or document it! I like watercolor paper as my go to base for ATCs. I enjoy making mini journals and notepads to give to friends and mini scrapbooks to document camping trips. I think pocket letters are a fun and sweet way to share your creativity and pass along goodies to new and old friends. Since joining SwapBot I have discovered MemoDex cards and Deco Books- I love them! Scrapbook paper, cardstock, cling stamps, embellishments, washi tape, stickers, die cuts and ephemera to decorate those things are great to receive. I love all types of stationery with cute coordinating sticky notes, paper clips and such.
I love The Cat Who books by Lillian Jackson Braun, the Earth Children Series by Jean M. Auel. I used to read a lot of Dean Koontz but had to stop because I had trouble sleeping at night- his book Watchers is one of my all time favorite books though. I don't like violent, gory books or TV/movies. I will read just about anything other than that depending on the mood I am in.
I like hard candies: Gobstoppers, Red Hots, Fire Balls, Jaw Breakers and suckers. I also enjoy toffees, caramels and trail mixes. I love my coffee- I could drink it all day. I like a nice hot mug of tea occasionally as well.
I do not have allergies but I am sensitive to scented things like stickers, lotions, makeups and perfumes, please do not send anything scented or wearable. I do not wish to receive anything political or any bloody/gory images. I am not interested in Disney characters, emojis or scented stickers. I have no use for kiddy, school reward stickers or alphabet stickers.
I always have a nervousness when I give my envelopes to Mrs. Jean at the post office. Will you like this? Did I do the swap right? Will it make it there? Is it good enough? I want to say a Big Thank You to my partners for your sweet words, they mean a lot! After reading responses and other peopleââŹâ˘s comments, I feel like we all get that nervousness. I think this is a great community of people and you bless me with your beautiful things in my mailbox and your kind words! Thank yââŹâ˘all! ðŸââ˘
Update 7/8/2018 Mrs. Jean passed away today.
Mrs. Jean has been in the hospital with a lung infection Please lift her up in your prayers or send good thoughts her way if you would. Thank you. It is such a small town post office, it has been closed all week with her being the only one who runs it. I will try to keep this updated about her.

Oh my! You're too kind! You really didn't have to send postage my way! Just wanted you to know for future pocket letter swaps -- those suckers can get bulky (I know from experience!). I appreciate you taking the time out to send this note and extras. Hope to see you around in future swaps. :)
