"I believe that creativity is a force of enchantment--not entirely human in its origins." --Elizabeth Gilbert Big Magic
I am an artist. My mediums of choice are watercolor, and acrylic and pottery.
I think sharing art is the greatest way to pass time--aside from making it.
I am also an author. I have published 4 books of poetry. I'm not into the sappy yucky love stuff, just the guts and grit of life, bearing witness to nature and finding words where others might not have any. My favorite poets are Mary Oliver, Adrienne Rich and William Stafford.
I love Nature! I grew up on a small farm with a huge garden so I think I'm somewhat old fashioned in a way. I love ferns, lichens, moss, the deep greens of trees and plants. I love being at the edge of a stream (or anywhere near water) watching birds or bugs or whatever comes by. I freeze and can my food from the garden, I cook and bake. I recycle like crazy.
I got my M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences with a focus on Ecocriticism. If you know what that is, message me and let's write immediately.
MUSIC is the fluidity we need between languages. I love to listen to my Valley of the Clouds CD while I paint. Instrumentals soothe me.
I began piano at a young age and love all things jazz, classic or chorale. I also adore: P!NK, Adele, Pentatonix, Maroon 5 and Ed Sheeran. I'm also an 80's girl, so punk and butt-rock still find their way into my sound waves. Sometimes, I do play a song on repeat, OR dork out while "driver's seat dancing."
I love READING! I do not limit my interests in reading as I have found something to love in every genre (though I have not tried a graphic novel yet). Subject-wise, I have also loved novels about art, book shops, writing, readers, and even witches.

The first book I read on the issue - about 3 years ago- was "Race and Nature from Transcendentalism to the Harlem Renaissance" and I totally loved it. If you have any book recommendations for a newbie on these matters who wish to learn more feel free to shoot me a line. That would be much appreciated :-)
I’ve been cruising through your gallery and that swan is GORGEOUS. Would you ever consider producing prints of it?
HI! Welcome to the Artisan ATCs group. I am so happy you would like to join us in our creative journey! I adore the quote you have on your profile, "I believe that creativity is a force of enchantment--not entirely human in its origins." --Elizabeth Gilbert Big Magic. It's so true! Look forward to swapping with you. If you would like to become an officer of the group and host some swaps, let me know :-) Leslie

I am so amazed by what you sent. And I feel honored that you thought of me with such care. The Raven is by far the most beautiful example of quilling I have ever seend. The journal, coffee and bar of soap will go to good use. I was just getting down in my supplies of all three. Again, Thank you.
