Unfortunatly, I have no knowledge of the Shady Side area, I work in Oakland and have to know about the places there. The only Clipper ride I was one was when I worked at the Science Center and they had a Holiday party on one, course that was before the economy fell. it was nice, but since it was in December, it was a bit chilly on the river and I felt trapped!

I am sorry to hear about your daughter. Which UPMC hospital is it happening at? If it is in Oakland, there are a lot of nice places to stay at. Wyhdam University Place, Holiday Inn University Center, Hampton Inn University Medical Center, those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Let me know if you would be interested in visiting the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History and I can set you up with some admission passes!
