I love to knit, especially socks. Most of the time if I am sitting, I am knitting!

I've also been known to scrapbook and make cards before my kids came along and spreading all my paper craft stuff out wasn't as easy as it was before.

Before I took up paper crafting, I enjoyed quilting. I'm mostly good at sewing in a straight line, so I don't sew many intricate things, but I love putting things together.

I haven't done much sewing or quilting or paper crafting since my kids came along, but now that they are getting older, it's getting easier to take things out to work on.

I live in (mostly) sunny northern California in a beautiful suburb of Sacramento. I have a busy family life with a couple little boys and a wonderful husband at home. I enjoy my role as queen of our little castle. Even our dog is a boy.

I have been a registered nurse for 11 years, specializing in post-operative cardiac surgery, including bypass and valve surgeries as well as heart transplants and artificial heart pumps. I love my job and love feeling that I am making a difference in the recovery of others at very challenging times in their lives.

I am so excited to start swapping here! Please don't worry too much about swaps with me, I'm just super excited to get mail that isn't bills! I'm not picky!

I love a good chick-lit novel. My favorite author is Sophie Kinsella a.k.a. Madeleine Wickham. She writes the funniest romantic comedies. I also enjoy the Bridget Jones books. I am in a book club that reads a lot of books outside of my romantic comedy comfort zone, and I have enjoyed most of those books as well, but will always reach for a book with a romantic comedy-vibe to it if left to my own devices.

I am so so sooo very happy that fall is here and my shows are back on. I enjoy watching The Goldbergs and flashing back to my childhood in the '80s. I'm also hooked on Scandal and New Girl. I watch a LOT of children's shows (not my choice!) and a lot of San Francisco Giants baseball, thanks to my boys.

Oh, Dave Matthews, how I love thee.

Also, I love the Dixie Chicks and was so excited to recently see them live!!! I'm also a Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood fan. I guess mostly I like that crossover type country sound.
