Many years ago, I remember my grandma would wait patiently for mail - and it would always come. She'd receive postcards, stickers, letters, knitted items, all sorts of goodies... from this very website. I always thought it was the coolest thing. Sometimes she even let me have some of the stickers or lip gloss or other kid-friendly things. Then her health slowly deteriorated and she couldn't participate anymore - and to be honest, I completely forgot about this until recently.

She has since passed. But just a couple of days ago, when waking through a crafts store, I remembered all the handmade crafty things she made and sent/received. It took me a while and a bit of googling to figure out the name of this website... but I'm here now, and ready to start swapping as a way to feel closer to her.

I love photography, I'm not a professional but I've been playing with cameras for over a decade, and I've managed to get some pretty nice shots so far. Landscape photography is my favorite, although in the last couple of years, I have been developing a passion for astrophotography. Photographing the Northern lights is a newer love, and one that depends on so many factors to happen, but everything about it is amazing.

I've also been a postcrosser since I was a kid, and have sent and received a few hundred postcards. Landscapes and local landmarks are my favorites, but I also love black and white old/vintage pictures, local wildlife, and architecture.

I love cooking and baking for others (often too lazy to do it just for myself), and I would definitely describe myself as a foodie. I hate pickles and anything vinegar-y, beets, and strong peppers/chilies. Anything else, I'm game for trying.

Some other hobbies include calligraphy and hand lettering, watercolor painting (not good at it, but I find it relaxing anyway), singing in a choir, and playing a couple of musical instruments.

I'm a grad student in linguistics and speech language pathology, and love anything language and linguistics-related. Would love to receive things written in Spanish/Portuguese/French/Italian/German/Swedish/Norwegian/Danish, to test my reading comprehension skills. Would also love other languages, but would kindly ask for a translation to help me out!

My favorite colors are turquoise/teal, strong pinks, and pretty much any shade of blue besides baby blue. I also love strong, bold colors in general.
