I am a middle school art teacher in British Columbia, Canada. I have 3 kids and a wonderful wife, and I have a need to create - art, food, baking...its all good!

I'm not fond of the term "crafting"...but I have been an artist and creator for as long as I can remember. I love working with clay, drawing ( especially pen and ink), painting, mixed media, fused plastic ( a newly discovered, fun way of working), art journalling, mail art and ATC's. I go wherever inspiration takes me. Like many creative people, I have a bit of artistic ADD. I really have to keep myself focused on the task at hand, but generally I find my brain wandering to other ideas, other techniques, other mediums... The best part of being an Art Teacher is that it allows me to try something new if I choose too, but still come back to old tried and true favorites.

art materials I love: postage stamps, foreign paper currency ( especially from unusual countries), unusual paper from other countries ( foreign language newspapers are cool) creative ephemera ( in my collection I have old library cards, punch cards, joss paper) old envelopes with beautiful handwriting, maps, air mail labels, foreign book pages, ticket stubs, luggage tags, block printed paper, letter press items...

I am a bit of a packrat for interesting and unusual papers / materials, though I generally prefer the REAL thing over reproduction items or scrapbook paper imagery.
