Hi, I am Monique. I live in Almere and work as a tram conductor in Amsterdam. I am married and we have a twelve year old daughter named Anouk. She has ADHD and autism. I'm waiting to get diagnosed as well since the whole journey with her gave me so many eye openers about myself. We have 2 rats and they really are the most awesome pets we've ever had!

I love rock music, but also pop, golden oldies, Sinatra, salsa, Latin, musical and soundtracks. Love Elvis Presley, Nina Simone, Rolling Stones, Bette Midler, too much to mention.

I love reading. I will basically read anything I get my hands on. Love thrillers/detectives, Joanne Harris, Tess Gerritsen, Roald Dahl, J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling, books about countries, cultures and 2nd world War.

Really to many favorites to write down, but I'll try to keep it short. Horrors like It, child's play, vampire movies, fantasy movies, hobbit, lord of the rings, Harry Potter, comedy movies, true stories and movies about the second world War. Any movie with Johnny Depp in it. Any movie from director Tim Burton (yeah that's almost the same thing, haha) Love Disney! Especially Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, Coco and the Disney Villains. Adore Marilyn Monroe!

Poirot, CSI, Bones, Ru Paul's Drag Race, orange is the new black, Bates motel, Hannibal, true blood, vampire diaries, the originals, how to get away with murder, midsomer murders and Rizzoli and Isles. My newest addictions are Lucifer, Penny Dreadful and A Discovery of Witches.

I love drawing, painting and crafting with my daughter. We have bullet journals and a crazy amount of stencils, stickers and washi. We make soaps, shower jellies and bath bombs. Love going to a second hand store and buy stuff to give it a makeover. I'm pretty addicted to making atc's. All the atc's I make are handdrawn or handpainted, since that's what I love most.

Other hobbies are going on field/day/road trips with friends and family, travelling, cooking and baking. I love hosting a diner party for friends. Just like with Christmas I'll plan everything way ahead of time, looking up recipes, love preparing for an occasion. I grow some fruits, herbs and vegetables in our yard, so love gardening.

Art: I absolutely adore Frida Kahlo!! But also love Dali, Warhol, Klimt, Gaudi, Haring, DaVinci and Picasso.

I love all holidays! And I mean holidays from all different cultures! I would love to receive anything linked to them, like cards, pictures, stickers etc. I especially love Halloween, dia de los muertos and Christmas!

Favorite animals: sloth, llama/alpaca, all big cats (my Zodiac is Leo, so especially lions), orcas, beluga, koalas, red Pandas, snakes, crocs & gators. Elephants! And rats of course!

Do's & don't 's:

(decorated) envelopes! I'm OK with receiving naked postcards but when possible I would love receiving them in an envelope since the Dutch mail company is anything but careful...

I don't like coffee but I absolutely love tea. PLEASE NO HERBAL, NO GREEN TEA AND NO ROOIBOS TEA!!! (I'm allergic)

Love all kinds of stationary. My daughter loves kawaii but it's really hard to come by in the Netherlands so that's always very very appreciated.

Stickers: We love Disney so much, but... Please no princesses or Mickey and friends. Not that we don't like them at all, but we have so many of those. Please no reward stickers. If I would get them I would forward them to school because I wouldn't know what to use them for. Love: Food stickers Animal stickers Halloween stickers Kawaii stickers (would make Anouk so happy)

Washi: Unless the swap calls for it specifically I'm not a big fan of the narrow washi tapes. I love holiday washi and it's not easy to find in my country. Especially Halloween and Easter ones. Love food, unicorn, mermaid, animals, cactus or succulents, washi's that refer to culture or landmarks.

I always send my swaps so if you think it's been too long and you haven't received anything please contact me so we can figure out what happened and make it right. The same goes for ratings. If I haven't rated the swap you send me then I haven't received it yet.

Anouk is in many ways like me but these are the things she likes best:

Horror, like pennywise the clown! Also loves the Addams family, especially Wednesday Addams. She loves notepaper and sticky notes. She's a real Potter head, she's in Gryffindor. (I'm a Ravenclaw) All our rats have Harry Potter names. Favorite characters are: Hermione and Luna (mine are Snape, Bellatrix and Fred and George).

Her favorite animals are: rats, Cheetah, dolphins, rattlesnakes😂
