Hello Im Nancy. Im 38 and live in Portland Oregon.

Our son Skyler is deaf. He signs and speaks. We have been learning ASL as a family since he was 2 months old! He goes to deaf asl preschool. He received cochlear implants May 2023. So far, so good. It's a lot of patience, therapy and hard work. We are so proud of him.

Nov 2022 My son turned 3!

November 2019 - had a baby boy Nov. 13th Skyler! We are over the moon for him.

March 2019 - Found out I am pregnant with my first baby! woohoo! Due November 7th!

Feb 2018 - getting ready for a 3 week trip to Nicaragua! Granada and corn islands!

Sep 2016 - I just spend 30 days in Indonesia (Bali, Borneo and Java) with my boyfriend. We saw the wild orangutans in Borneo, visited Hindu and Buddhist temples and snorkeled with sea turtles. It was so beautiful!

I love hand embroidery (check out my Flickr) Community gardening, rubber stamping, sewing soft toys, weird art house films, baking gluten free, helping senior citizens and homeless communities.

I have always loved to send things to friends in the mail. I grew up always being the new kid as we moved around a lot, so writing letters and sending silly little things to old friends really got me through some tough times.

Now that we live in the age of social media, my friends do not do the snail mail thing anymore, everyone wants it easy, fast, instant satisfaction, I just can't keep up, and I don't want to.

Ive been Vegan 15yrs now and was vegetarian a few years before that. It was a process, I took baby steps and it has been working well for me. I have found that I love food even more, appreciate flavors, textures, cooking, baking from scratch. My bf is vegan too and it really helps to have support and a food prep partner. I eat a lot of raw whole food in warmer months. For health reasons I am also gluten free. No corn. No nuts.

Originally I became vegan for health reasons, my digestive system always suffered with meat/dairy. I have more energy and sleep better. I love animals more and on a deeper level. I am against animal testing and cruelty. I read a lot about animal rights and current issues. Portland is a very vegan friendly place :)
