Description:

I was part of a Mandala swap hosted by somebody else a few months ago, and I enjoyed it so much I thought I'd create another one! Hopefully there are some others out there who will enjoy it as well! :)
This will be regional - US only, to make it cheaper for people to mail. If anyone wants to create an international one, please feel free!

This swap will be simple: You will find 1 Mandala, color it any way you choose, and mail it to 1 partner in an envelope. You may fold it to fit in a small envie or mail it in a larger one - that is completely up to you.

All skill levels are welcome to join - there are simple mandala designs and there are more complex designs. Just google "mandala coloring page" to find one that you are comfortable with, and print it out. Or, if you'd prefer to draw the mandala yourself - that's fine too! To color it, you can use crayons, colored pencils, markers, paints, highlighters, permanent markers - whatever you'd like!

Newbies are welcome to join. For experienced swappers, nobody with lower than a 4.5 rating, or recent unexplained 1's or 3's. I will be manually checking profiles.
There should be no need for anyone to flake on this - its just coloring a picture and mailing it by the deadline. If you don't think you can commit to those requirements, then please do not join.

Most importantly, have fun!

I did one of these the first year I was here. I wanna say there was 3 partners to send to. And one of them mailed their like a postcard. Please do NOT do that!! It will get torn up!!

CajunLady - thanks for that tip. Please do not send your mandalas in postcard form - please mail it in an envelope! Thanks! I will edit the swap info to add that.

At this point in my life I can imagine coloring one of these with my three-year-old son, which I would find fun and the results lovely, but a swap partner may not agree ;-)

I did this the last time and it was real fun. I printed mine from the internet and printed it on cardstock. NorthernBorder, I would love to get it from your 3 year old son. The younger children tend to have a better imagination that us older children.

At first I was wary of this swap, thinking we would have to draw our own mandalas for our partner to color. But now I'm excited. I love mandalas (just not drawing them out. Too involved, and my head always turns to mush about half-way through, lol).

MessInADress - oh my, I couldn't imagine drawing one on my own! Yikes! I think that would take mroe patience and creativity than I have. I just love to color them, lol :)

And NortherBorder, I also wouldn't mind getting one colored by a 3 year old! I love art by children. You can always PM your partner once partners are assigned, and ask them what their preference is. :)

Sillyna511 - My first one, I pulled an all-nighter drawing it, but then the coloring was a little sloppy due to trying to do it during study hall periods and lunch hour. But my second one was thankfully smaller, and I paced myself. Looked loads better than the first.

MessInADress- I love your name!

NorthernBorder, you can send me one done by your 3 yr old! I like art made by kids, and would most likely frame it!

Can't wait! It's almost time to swap!

Godssongg 01/ 9/2011 #

Oh and Sillyna511- I love you.

blessedtwox 01/ 9/2011 #

i also wouldn't mind getting one from a 3 yr old, because i was thinking the same thing. i have a 4 yr old daughter i was thinking of coloring with for this swap

blessedtwox 01/17/2011 #

I know this may seem like a silly question, but how do we send it? Do we fold it up? Do we put it in a big enough envie so we don't have to? I would think folding it might make it not so pretty. Forgive me, I've never even heard of mandala colorings before this swap.

Sillyna511 01/18/2011 #

Astark2009 - it's your choice how to mail it. You can fold it to fit in a small one, or mail it in a large one. Whichever you would prefer doing. :)

samjowers 01/18/2011 #

Sounds like a very nice swap but the 4.5 rating requirement seems too low. Maybe next time!

AlphaChick 01/20/2011 #

CAN we draw it? i would prefer to do that

Sillyna511 01/20/2011 #

AlphaChick - if you'd like to draw your own, and then color it, that's perfectly fine! I admire the talent and creativity you must have, and I'm sure the recipient would as well! :)

Sillyna511 01/20/2011 #

I have edited the Swap Description to reflect that. Thanks!

Acornlovesyou 01/22/2011 #

My girlfriend and I are both doing this swap. Her swap name is sugarmagnoliaaa, can you try to make sure we both don't get each other?

Thank you!

Faeorain 01/23/2011 #

Oh darn...I missed out on this. Please let me know if you do another one :)

Sillyna511 01/23/2011 #

Acornlovesyou - I am not able to assign the partners, it is done automatically by the system. If the two of you get each other, I'm sorry! But there's nothing I can do to change it

Sillyna511 01/23/2011 #

Faeorain - feel free to create one yourself! This wasn't my idea originally, and I have no problems with people continuing it! :D
