Description:

I can't remember how I came about seeing these beauties, but I can't help myself from wondering if I can make these too.

Using jig saw puzzle pieces that you know aren't being used anymore, take this challenge with me and try to make an altered beauty out of them. You can go to your local thrift or goodwill stores to find jig saw puzzles there.

For this swap we will have 1 partner and for our partner we will make 2 altered puzzle pieces. 1 partner = 2 altered pieces. Since I too am new to this I'll make it an anysize puzzle piece. Pick what works best for you for now.

Decorate and embellish as you wish, this is "senders choice" of theme. Don't want to make it too challenging. But PLEASE try to make your piece nice and pretty, just like the one you would want to recieve. (I hope I have that worded right, lol)

So please join me as I too try to make this new craft work for me, lol =)

  • I will accept newbies with a WELL filled profile, no recent 3's or 1's. I will not be angeling this one, due to this swap idea being new to me as well. So if you join, please complete this swap =), email your partner if necessary, I cannot control how your partner will rate.

Is there a size limit on the piece. i have some chipboard jigsaws waiting to be altered but they are quite, around 4inches

Thank-you for hosting this swap, I didn't have time to host it and it has been on my mind for a while.

Oh think Im in here - Ill watch just new until I manage to hunt down a few puzzle pieces & experiment to ensure I can do it to a decent standard!

ladydy5 10/14/2009 #

Absolutely as far as I am concerned those larger puzzle pieces would make a great base for embellishments.

CroLaneyL 10/14/2009 #

Any size is ok, like I mentioned above, use what ever size works best for you. That is what I'll be doing and if smaller ones work for me, then that's great too =)

I was just thinking today I should look for an altered puzzel piece to join. Thanks :)

Bought some jigswas yesterday from the charity shop - its all go now!!

CroLaneyL 11/ 7/2009 #

I did the same thing, didn't feel like hunting some down, lol.

Thrift shops and charity shops seem to always have a good selection of 'previously solved puzzles' so I am always looking for unique sizes and all that fun stuff. It's on my watchlist for now.

Just to make sure I haven't royally messed up, we haven't swapped anything yet, correct? Is the Nov 27th date the deadline for sending the pieces of our puzzle out, or for us to have sent the pieces we altered received back to the owner?

Thanks!

doublesided 11/ 9/2009 #

@fayefaye on or around Nov 16th you will recieve the name of your partner that you send to. You will then send them 2 ALTERED puzzled pieces by Nov 27th. Someone different will send you two ALTERED puzzle pieces by Nov 27th. Hope this makes sense!

fayefaye 11/10/2009 #

Oh! So we aren't sending out our pieces for someone else to alter? Ok, glad I got that cleared up!

I'm ready now!

CroLaneyL 11/16/2009 #

thank you double sided for helping me out with the questions, lol. Hope everyone is clear on how this works....partners will be asigned tomorrow =)
