Decorate a Journal cover swap hello everyone. If one of these swaps have been created please forgive me that I am repeating it. I was looking for one like this to join and could not find one so I thought I would host one. Here you will purchase a spiral notebook or composition book and decorate the front of it ONLY but if you are wanting you are more then welcome to do the back too. You can paint or decorate it in a scrapbook fashion if you are really good at that. Just please don't put stickers on it and call it done. The pictures above are 2 that I have painted. Do not write on the inside as this is for your partner to do their journalism in. You just need to decorate a front cover for them :) You only need to create a cover on 1 book for 1 partner. Once you have decorated your cover please send it to your partner. You can start on it now or wait till partners have been assigned and do the cover in something they like. This has to be a cover that you decorate please. Can be as frilly as you like :) Questions feel free to ask me Newbies are surely welcome with a filled out profile and all others please have at least a 4.8 with no recent 1's or 3's as I would really like for everyone to get a journal from their partner. If you can not mail it out please don't join. This is US and Canada only to help in keeping postage down. Should fit in a bubble envelope just fine and mail out I would think under 3.00. Remember to ask to send it media mail to save a little. Will take a little longer then first class but hey every penny counts right. :) Have fun! Be creative!

i like this idea, but I'm in canada! doh! would you consider opening it up to canadian participants, or hosting another swap that did allow canadian participants?

Canada.. I will make this swap for US and Canada only as I am sure the postage wouldn't be to much for Canada.

Would it be okay for me to hand-bind a journal to decorate, rather than purchase one? It would allow me to add a few more intricate pieces <3

Why the front cover only? I prefer to make mine appear to be finished so I do both front and back. I would also prefer to receive one like that also. So I guess i will have to think about this one. I LOVE making altered journals.

You are more then welcome to do the back also by all means. If you want to make one for scratch as well then go for it... I am not that creative to make an actual journal..LOL please make sure it has plenty of paper. Partners will be assigned Nov. 7th this is to give you time once swap has ended on Oct. 29th to make one if you are wanting to make one from something your partner likes on their profile, but please you are welcome to make one now. I am! :)

I am sorry, but I made the swap for front only but I did go back and add in that you can do the back too... if you get a swapper that does not do the back please be aware that if you get one this was created for a front only. Personally I decorate the whole thing as well, but I wanted to make this easy for first timers creating these. :)

Kimpe if you get one that is only "front decorated" you could finish it up yourself...that might be a fun project anyway. :)

I just noticed that my partner still hasn't sent and that it appears she has flaked on at least 1 other swap so far.
