Description:

Hi, everyone! The move has been rough and we lost a cat only two days later. I can't handle swapping right now, so I'm postponing this until April.

If anyone would like to create the swap as well, even identically, I don't mind. <3 More is more!

For this swap, send an EMAIL to 2 partners, using the BCC function. The email should have at least two paragraphs, 3 sentence minimum on each.

The swap is international.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE TRANS TO JOIN. You don't have to be 'queer,' either! You can be totally straight, heterosexual, and cisgendered (cis- is Greek, 'same-as.') That's 100% okay.

Trans people or "transgender issues" might be in the news a lot, but that usually doesn't give people a good picture of reality or prominent figures. Movies, too often, have the same story arcs that were once required by law to "kill your gays" (and any queer person.)

For this email, just forget all that. Learn something new!

Who is a trans person or someone who was thought to be trans (in a modern sense, before the idea of "transitioning gender or sex" was invented) that you find interesting? Who was a person that sparked inventiveness, excitement, who challenged social rules?

Are there laws about being gender non-conforming in your country?

For fun, look up someone you don't already know a lot about. Find out if there was a cool artist or performer in idk, the 1920s you'd never heard of. Include an image of a funny comic if you want!

American English defines a transgender person one way, but other languages and cultures have different ideas about what sex or gender even IS. Some cultures HAD groups of people, like Two Spirits or mujers, that didn't conform to American-English ideas of a person at all. Does your language or culture say something else? Was there a different viewpoint before Americanization or colonial influences?

Write a short email talking about some of these ideas. The idea here is to uplift someone's day and educate.

INCLUDE YOUR SWAP BOT NAME AND SWAP TITLE.

If you don't get an e-mail, or you just want the one I'm sending out, message me!

NO "bioessentialism" or transphobia, bigotry, or TERFS should join. If someone gets hateful messages, they will be reported and probably posted online... because if you did it online, that means you posted in a public place. You've been on the internet more than 1 day so you know to expect this. <3

The trans person, law, or history note doesn't have to be your personal favourite or incredibly interesting to you. That's okay! If you get an email and it has at least two paragraphs, it counts.

Message me with any issues and save any emails that contain hateful messages so they can be forwarded to me. I don't tolerate this crap. I am not Instagram. SB is meant to be kept safe and fun for all of us!
