About Me

Hi everyone! I've gotten 1-2 messages about either lost or returned mail. I'm wondering if being on the 'auxiliary route' at my apartment is the culprit, or if my middle name is. As such, I've changed the address name.

I always get swaps out as soon as I can, but admittedly, I'm sometimes bad at sending tracking numbers or remembering the 'second step' of clicking "sent items" if I can't send them the same day I pack them. If you don't get your items 3-4 weeks from the end date, send me a message!

Current Projects!

I'm unloading quite a bit of my things! Some have to be sold but others, I'm happy trading out.

Feel free to send any of these instead of the written swap. Just message me so I know what to expect. Stuff doesn't have to be new. I often prefer secondhand or vintage items.

  • Books! I'll try to post an Amazon wishlist, but really, get it from wherever, Most swaps + thrift store books are $5 or less. If they cost more, they'll probably wait or I'll find a download via library.

  • Any Japanese snacks or stuff for a teenage girl. My sister LOVES yukata, hair pins, lots of anime.

  • I love trading out washi + stickers. I have lots of them! I like 'academia,' 'dark forest,' animals, all kinds of things that aren't the cute, cartoony kind.

I'm destashing a TONNE of stuff! I don't know how my partner didn't divorce me. While I'm getting much better about it, I own WAY too much stuff. I'd like to have fewer physical items, or own physical items I really enjoy vs. piles of Stuff that I'll 'definitely get around to.' (Narrator voice: Dani did not ever 'get around to' it.)

Feel free to message me if you want to send any of this stuff instead of the swap items asked for. It isn't a problem!

Supplies I Use

I love natural materials for any supplies, with minimal plastic-based items. I tend to 'upcycle' thrifted clothes and dabble in all sorts of crafting types, so I even use scrap fabrics. In fact, I prefer clean fabrics that would otherwise be waste, if they're larger than 2x3."

Please no dog hair, cigarette smells, or strong perfumes. I tend to get migraines and don't have a washing machine, so it could take 2 weeks to hot wash something properly.

Favorite Crafts

  • Weaving (I have a 16" rigid heddle loom right now, but I formerly rigged various objects for frame looming or 'nature looming'.) Sometimes damaged or thinning shirts get cut + stretched for yarn. I need to practice weaving when fabric stretches and shrinks irregularly. Balls of t-shirt yarn or jersey knit strips are always welcome!

  • Sewing basic items. I have a mannequin now, so I hope to learn draping like I wanted to uh, 20 years ago. I also use cast-off scraps for quilted or patchwork things, like washable tote bag facings. I take apart damaged clothing when possible and see what I can do with it.

  • Archiving vintage + antique Japanese postcards of the karyukai (geisha, maiko, tayuu, oiran,) I also like vintage books about Japan that aren't just tourist guides.

  • Papercrafts like art journalling, scrapbooking, and some bullet journal/art journal hybrid work for daily use.

Other Things

Off-site I tend to sell and trade for very different things. I have a rather large stash of kimono, fabrics, books, and even foodstuffs.

I don't celebrate Xmas and tbh am pretty bad at performing Jewish hols. I try to do something proper for Shabbos/Sabbath, but the challenge is Putting Down Responsibilities for just 24 hours.

My house is interfaith/atheist, though, so if someone enjoys lights? Go for it! You want a pine tree? Okay, just don't let the cats get hurt. I miss living in the woods with the change of season air scents, so yeah, get a tree. Other relatives are Baptist or Evangelical, mostly, so I keep a stash of Xmas-specific cards + papers.

Whatever you believe has/should have 0 effect on my ability to control my own life. We all have that in common, I hope.

Comment: Love the goodies you sent and I was surprised to see my swap card! I took that photo and it is one of my favs. I hope you are doing well.
Response: I don't know why I didn't notice that I was sending it back! I often hold onto things I like for a few months, and then mail them back out so that I can share them with others. ATCs and small artworks are meant to be seen, right? Hope you're doing well!

Thank you for the variety of Christmas cards for the LSRUs November wishlist, they’re great! (I had to figure out what wish swap might mean, especially since I’m doing more than one wishlist, but found you pretty fast)
