Description: | |
Wood burning is an old craft that has made a come back. It's really simple and easy and you get an awesome piece of work. Where to get supplies: Michaels or Hobby Lobby or any big craft store will have them. You will need some wood--any size or shape max size 5x7. You will also need the tool for wood burning it usually comes with a stand and some different tips to use to make your design. You can find a picture online that you like, print it out, trace it. You will need to use graphite tracing paper. It's black and you just trace your image onto that taped down to the wood. It transfers your image onto the wood. You can chose to stain your wood or not that is up to you--if you do, use a light stain. Rules 1 partner, international swap, make your partner one design on a piece of wood size around 4x5 or 5x7. Please don't get upset if you get something that's not perfect this is for beginners. Good way to get a type 3 rating and a nice little piece of art. Sign up date is September 18th, I'll assign partners on the 19th and deadline to get your swap out by is September 30th. This swap is not for newbies unless you message me telling me you're into wood burning and you promise you won't flake. Otherwise no newbies and no users with unexplained low ratings. You can look at your partners profiles for ideas of things they like, butterflies, flowers, peacocks, stars, ect. This should be a lot of fun. the picture I've posted is the first one I did and it's a peacock with a quote before it was stained. You can look at examples online or youtube but don't be discouraged because a lot of them will look better than yours because they are more experienced and that's okay! I hope I get a good turn out for this swap. I had to delete it because no one signed up, but I'm hoping that doesn't happen this time! |
