Description:

This is the fifth in a series of JournalPals swaps. In these swaps, you will be provided a topic on which to make a journal entry. Your journaling can be written (hand or typed), visual, or a combination of the two. Make whatever type of journal entry you would like -- however long or short, and send it on to 1 partner. You will send just the single entry, not a book.

The topic for this swap is Streaming Thoughts/Images. One journalling technique is to write any thought that comes to mind. In visual journalling, this translates to selecting images from magazines or other sources that you are attracted to or doodling randomly. This practice of just emptying your mind on the page can help you "trap" the hamster running on the wheel and open you up to greater levels of creativity.

So grab a piece of paper and start dumping words and/or images on it. In the process, you may come to come interesting realizations, almost like insights that come from dreams.

I will limit JournalPals swaps to those with 4.5 ratings or higher and whose current swaps have been sent. I've found that swaps with a large number of people tend to have a lot of flakers, so I will limit the swap to 25 people. If I have to drop people because we have too many sign ups, I will keep people who have successfully participated in previous JournalPals swaps. I will do this so that swappers are more likely to be matched up more than once and have a chance to get to know each other. You don't have to participate in ALL previous JournalPals swaps to be included. I know that some topics won't be appealing to some.

I have created a group blog where swap members can post their journal entry after it has been mailed and received. You can either scan and post an image or type your entry. This is not a requirement, just an option. I plan to post all of my entries for this swap here. If you would like to post to this blog, e-mail me and I'll give you access. Click on the link above to see the blog.

Please post if you have any questions. I'm looking forward to creating these regular swaps and getting to know fellow journalers on Swap-Bot!
