Are you like me? Are you NUTS for NOTECARDS? I find I can never have too many, as I use notecards to send various swaps and to keep in touch with penpals, etc. Again, if you are like me, you love to have a wide variety of note cards. That's why swapping is so awesome!

You will have 1 partner and will send this partner 4 notecards with envelopes. After all, we are all "nuts 4 notecards." The notecards may be store bought OR hand made.

US only, to keep costs low. This swap should not require more than 2 First-Class Stamps (unless you add some extra items).

I will Angel, but I hope no one will flake. Please have a minimum rating of 4.8 to participate in this swap. I will also allow Newbies into the swap. We have all been Newbies and everyone needs a place to start. If you are a newbie, PLEASE have a well filled out profile. I will be checking before assigning partners.

Please join all of us "nuts." :)

I wish you a good luck for your own swap! :)

Hi thanks for the comment about newbies as its is so disappointing cause I keep seeing swaps I'd love to join but can't and most of the ones I can join don't interest me much as i dont do atc's n don't use or send postcards but this might definitely be something i could use as the 4 swaps I've worked on since joining I included a card or note in them.I just was wondering what's the difference in the note card and standard cards u buy at craft stores? And what is the standard size for a note card ? I would like to join but before doing so I want to insure I understand what a note card is completely thanks for any answers you can give me happy swapping

@daichki - thank you :) I have a card coming to you I mailed a few days ago. Please let me know when it arrives :)

@craftyanimallover - thanks for your questions. First of all, I am happy to open this swap to newbies. We were all newbies once and everyone has to start somewhere :). Ok, note cards can be different sized but the standard notecard is around 4 inches by 6 inches. The standard birthday card like you would purchase at Hallmark is usually 5 inches by 7 inches and above. So note cards are a bit smaller. They can even be a bit smaller. According to the US Postal Service, the smallest envelope that can be mailed is 3 1/2 inches height and 5 inches width. I hope this helps. If you have further questions, just ask :).

I just bought a TON of notecards for $.15 for a 6 pack at Michaels today so I'm really hoping this pulls through ^_^

shalvorsen 10/ 8/2014 #

@hem0phobia - wow that's a great deal! I guess I will be going to Michaels sometime soon to see if my store has such a great sale :)

@shalvorsen - I just bought more today too. I went to a local antique store and got a box of 20 for $1.60! They're called American Impressionism, very artsy fartsy! Neat though! I'm in note card heaven xD In the last 3 days I've purchased 80 notecards in total lol. It's an awful obsession.

@hem0phobia - you truly are "nuts 4 notecards" lol! I love it!

Momskii 10/13/2014 #

hemOphobia: I hope I get you for my partner, I would love to see those new Am impressionism cards.

Would you say this is sender's choice or a profile based swap? Just wondering, since my notecard collection is less varied than my postcard collection.

daichki 10/16/2014 #

Yay! Your swap made Top 10. :)

shalvorsen 10/17/2014 #

@LeSillyMe - senders choice is fine, but it would be good to look at the profile and just make sure you don't send something that they specifically do not want (for example, if they do not want religious cards, etc).

@daichki - Thank you, friend!

I was debating whether I had time to join and decided I would take a minute to share some card lingo. I teach rubber stamping. A flat piece of paper mailed is called a post card. It usually goes without an envelope. Postage is less than a note card. A note card usually refers to a tall piece of paper folded in half like a mountain or teepee or a book. The front is usually decorated and a person shares a note inside. It is always sold with an envelope. A greeting card is probably any card sold at a card store or bookstore but there is a normal "medium -sized card stampers make called an A-2. You can make 2 out of 1 piece of cardstock. The front is usually decorated with stamps, paper and embellishments and it can be opened like a book or a mountain with fold at top. The inside usually has a rubber stamped greeting. Small note cards are 3 1/2 x 5 inches [folded] in an envelope a little bigger. Greeting Cards [A-2] start out 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and end up 5 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 opening either way. The standard sized envelope for these is called an invitation size. Hope this helps the newbies. Lynn L [luckylynnl]

When you were checking profiles, did you notice that @jamnj is late on several swaps?

nanabarb57 10/23/2014 #

Angela Pryzbylik. Your mail is going out in the morning. Sorry to be running lat. I put some extra goodies in for you.

hem0phobia 10/23/2014 #

@nanabarb57 Thank you! And no problem at all! I always seem to run into like 12 other problems while trying to do one thing! Thank you for letting me know! :)
