Description:

Your ATC front will be using a paint chip sample with the squares already cut out of it. I know they have them at Lowes. If you can not find them, you can use a punch & cut your own squares out.

Stamp, draw, paint, whatever you want to do to this little beauty. Add a sturdy backing.

We can put in in the comments where else we find these paint chip samples where the squares are already cut out of them.

Can you provide a link to an example? I can't quite picture this.

123Poggy123 03/10/2014 #

I do not have a link. I made this up in my head when I saw a commercial on TV with this new paint chip. I have used regular paint chips so I thought it would be fun to use this new type. (well new to me).

If I get one made soon, I will post a picture.

thebragal 03/10/2014 #

Yeah, I'm afraid I don't get it either. What's the point of a paint chip if most of the paint is cut out?

PeggyO 03/10/2014 #

I haven't been to Lowe's to look for these which might answer our questions, but I'm a little uncertain what you are meaning for us to do, Jackie----I'll probably be thinking "Well, DUH!" when I see the actual paint chips.

I am going to Lowes on Wed & hope to post a picture on Thurs. From the commercials I have seen, the squares are small. I am thinking you can stamp in the squares, have pictures behind the squares or run ribbon thru them.

I went to Sutherlands today & they do not have the new paint chips with the squares cut out.

I did a search and found this Playing with paint chips about half way down is a picture of a green paint chip card with square holes in it. Is this what we need to look for?

mizteach 03/12/2014 #

Yes the ones in the Playing with paint chips are at my Lowes. I think the purpose is so you can lay it over another item to match colors. I think they would make neat frames on ATCs.

I did find the samples at Lowes. The sample ATC I made, I put black cardstock behind the cut out squares.

BusyB 03/16/2014 #

The samples I have are from Better Homes and Garden and there is a circle punched in one end. Can I use that one or should I punch squares? I know I have more samples in my ephemera but I know there are none with the squares.

123Poggy123 03/16/2014 #

My idea was for the pre-punched squares but, I like the idea of a circle also. So go for it BusyB.

BusyB 03/17/2014 #

Thanks @123Poggy123 :) I'll see what I can do...maybe my partner will get two cards, one with the circle and one with the squares. I might need to visit Lowes. :D

saraphin 03/19/2014 #

hi we don't have that here, or lowes, or anything you mentioned. my husband is a trady and he's never heard of it??? i don't think i'll join up for this one. it might be too hard to find a suitable piece! what do you think, people? is anyone else an aussie? michele

123Poggy123 03/20/2014 #

You can use a small square punch & make your own squares.
