Description:

For this swap you will need a blank notebook approximately A5 size. Smaller is okay, but preferably no larger. One of our awesome swappers started me thinking about a journal swap and she found beaut blank notebooks at Officeworks.

As this is a labour-intensive swap, it will be Australia Only to keep postage costs down and help us feel more secure that journals will reach their intended destinations.

I will try to keep this fairly quick turnaround

To start off, Please complete page 1 with your Name, Address and Swapbot Username.

Any decoration of the cover, or pages you fill in are optional, but when working in other people's journals, please avoid thick bling and split pins.

Each round, we will do a double page spread using a list of at least 10 of whatever the swap round is about. So, to clarify: Your list must have 10 items on it, more if you desire, although that is not a necessity.

So, for Round 1 we will do a list of GREAT HOLIDAY DESTINATIONS

These are YOUR idea of top ten. So if you think Italy is a "must see" then Italy will be on your list. If you believe one hasn't lived until one has seen the Grand Canyon, then put that on your list.

Get the idea? Good!

If you receive a journal, you MUST rate a 5, even if you hate the idea of a camel ride in Egypt.

The destinations on the list are sender's choice

I am open to suggestions for other lists to include in future swaps. I do have a few ideas, but you might have some better ones.

Of course, it is entirely possible that when partners are assigned an owner might receive their own book back for that round.

The final round will not be ratable, as we will be returning the journals to their owners, just as we did after round five.

So, in place of ratings, a comment on the sender's page will be the 'receipt'.

Now, the usual stuff...

No unexplained 1's or 3's. Please only join if you are committed to sending the journals on. It will be fun to see what we get back.

Newbies with a well filled profile are welcome, so long as they have at least 5 rated swaps in categories 2 and/or 3. Well filled means I have to scroll to read it all.

Please ensure you send by the last date to send - earlier is preferable.

Look, you've read this far, so you're not a flaker are you? Excellent! Welcome aboard the fun train!

I check all profiles before assigning partners.

So, what are the journals she found at Officeworks?

mizlilyroo 02/24/2014 #

They are ' A5 SLIM KRAFT NOTEBOOK' 30 Blank sheets. Cost is $1.99. Barcode 9 341694 087290. I believe the Moleskin journals from Eckerslys are similar in style. a pack of 3 with pencils is about $12.00. Or you could "Re-purpose" a small kids book (about 20cents from the op shop) by painting the pages with a base coat and then working on them.

http://www.eckersleys.com.au/products/moleskine-cahier-journal-bonus-set they WERE cheaper.. when I bought them... they are $18.95 for the set of three journals and pencils now :( great quality though!

Hello swappers ♥

I think this is going to be a good swap! I'm getting excited. Are you?

Net3811 02/25/2014 #

Ideas for Lists: Modern Virtues, Pet Names, Famous People you'd love to have dinner with, Do a page or more on cleaning tips or handy tips, Ways to pamper yourself, Creative colour names, A menu, ie you've somehow ended up on MKR or opened a restaurant, what's being served?

One thing I'd love to do is get everyone to do a floor plan of their perfect home. So many times, you see floor plans in the paper and I always want to move a few walls or put the sink in front of a window.
I don't have an officeworks near me so shall try to make sure I can source an appropriate book before joining. Looks like great fun and thanks very much for inviting me Lizard!

@Net3811 I love those ideas! Thank you. :)

Yes, I often look at floor plans and move walls and doors. I also like to plan what each room will be used for, as in who will have which room.

ho w many times is this journal going to go round? as in there are only a few of us in it so far. will there be further rounds or how does it work? how long before i get my jounral back to me? i am a bit confused about it because i ahve never been part of a journal swap and I also dont have access to office works. I have a similar type journal , papercovered so its not as heavy to post will that be ok?

Lizard 03/11/2014 #

@tkoufus I have edited the swap to include this information. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I appreciate it.

ThESwEeTiE 03/28/2014 #

So you don't have to put any ART into this huh?

Lizard 03/30/2014 #

Hopefully we will put creativity into this, so that we pass on an idea of our individual style of artiness and end up with 'artsy fartsy' journals.
