Description:

I'm fascinated by the lesser-known news; the things that are strange or unusual which don't seem to cross our radars when we're glancing through the regular news of the day.

Here's the idea: you'll have a look at your assigned partners profile to get a sense of who they are and what interests them. You'll then choose a postcard based on their profile. Next, you will have a look through the recent news of your area (this might be news from your town, city, state/ province or even country), and choose a news story which seems a little strange or unusual. Recent examples from my area in Washington state include a court battle over a 77lb Dachshund, a tree that actually absorbed a "lost" bicycle, a woman who was kicked off of a Seattle bus because her child's diaper was too stinky, and a crab that has markings which some people say resembles Jesus. Write a synopsis of the news story that you choose from your local media on the back of the postcard, and throw your postcard in the mail. That's it!

I will be checking participants profiles and ratings thoroughly before assigning partners; please note that if you are currently showing as late on any swaps I will request that you follow through on those before participating in this swap. Similarly, if you have a 1 rating and have not made an effort to follow through on the swap owing to your partner (especially if they are still an active member of the site), I will likely ask that you do this before participating in any of my swaps.

Newbies must have a well filled out profile before joining this swap.

I do angel all of my swaps, although I will make every possible effort to ensure that my swaps remain flaker-free.
